Sad to say.... skip it :( Service was very poor. Food was nothing to write home about. This place is a gold mine waiting to be picked. Seniors, families and students in a downtown setting but falls very short with the current management.

I love coming here during the week nights for dinner because the atmosphere is good--the place is very clean--and there aren't too many people. I would avoid coming here on the weekends since out of the two times I've been there on a weekend night, the service has been extremely slow, unresponsive, and poor compared to their usual week night service. Their food is great and authentic. I would definitely recommend this place for a quiet evening date or even take out.

I went here to eat with my mom for an ordinary lunch and that's exactly what I got out of it. The location is in the beautiful antique Franklin mall, while the decoration and setting of the actual restaurant itself was quite nice. They had new everything, nothing in the restaurant felt old/used considering that the owner had previously had another restaurant down the street. It was a beautiful day, with minimal people outside, but inside, man was it packed! Even then however, the place was still quiet allowing for me and my mom to have an intimate talk. As for the food, both my mom and I ordered from the lunch special. For $7.99 a meal, I got Chicken Pad Thai and my mom got the Spicy catfish with rice, with both coming with soup. The soup felt like something that came out of a can, but it was still nice to have. The pad thai noodles felt kinda soggy and not so pan fried, however the seasoning was good. The chicken however felt like it was just throw in, having no taste. My mom's had the same comments to her food. Overall, it's a nice place to sit down and eat, with acceptable food. It wasn't the worst that I've ever had, but it's sure not the best! Would I come here again? Sure, but I wouldn't take a date there.

This place was ok, I've had better. What I did like about this place was that it has a great layout/ambiance! There is plenty of space for a group. The penang curry was really good, just the right amount of spice. THe satay and basil chicken were not that great.

My wife and I decided to try this restaurant because of the good reviews in yelp. When we lived in Oakland we used to eat out at various excellent Thai restaurants in Berkeley for quite a bit so we did have a certain expectation before trying this place. We tried their sister restaurant, Thai Pepper and were quite happy with it. The interior and decor in this restaurant were much nicer and more modern than Thai Pepper's so we were under the (false) impression that the food should also be much better. To start with, we hadTom Yum soup; and it was quite delicious. The prawn was fresh, the soup had just the right sour and spicy flavor. For the main dishes we had Panang beef and Pepper Lamb. They turned out to be atrocious to say the least. I expected chunky Lamb but they used very thin sliced lamb that is commonly used for shabu-shabu; tossed with green pepper, onion, and basil. Nothing special, and the lamb was extra chewy. The panang was worse. It was very watery and the beef was tough and tasteless. We really never had a Panang beef this bad before and didn't know what to make of this disaster. Maybe it was just a bad nite. Who knows. It was quite disappointing. We walked to Thai Pepper afterward and saw a sign at the door that they moved to Jasmine Fine Thai Cuisine. Did they shut it down? :-(

This is one of my all time favorite places to go for lunch. For under $10 a person, there are lots of options but I usually go for the shrimp pad thai (spicy). So delicious! I probably eat here once a week.

Jasmine Fine Dining is an upgrade to their sister restaurant Thai Pepper (also located in Franklin Mall). They have different chefs but if my memory serves me right, the owner also owns Thai Pepper. What I like about Jasmine is the fact that it's more of an inviting place. The ambience is beautiful, simplistic but clean and very roomy. Thai Pepper is way too small for a comfortable sit-down meal. The owner knew my friend & gave us extra attention and definitely took care of us. The service is great and I'd definitely would come here for a more relaxing sit-down experience. p.s. I'll still go to Thai Pepper for their lunch specials. You just can't beat that!

Nice lunch place for me...sat on the corner in a nice booth facing the Post Office and the sidewalk traffic. The windows go from floor to ceiling which gave the room a lot of outside light. The lunch specials are 12 long with curries and noodles to choose from for $7. I also tried the veggie spring rolls for $7, which I got five of them. Seems like a family run business and they were friendly throughout my lunch refilling water and asking us how we were doing. I hope to come back for dinner again.

Starting off with some positive notes: pleasant greeting as we were shown to a table and the general decor is very nice. We were not served soup that's supposedly included with the lunch menu. All the other tables had a bowl of soup delivered to each diner. My lunch plate of Pad Thai with shrimp was just left on the opposite side of the table. It was a little weird and perhaps demonstrated the waitress's lack of attention or interest. The food was generally unappealing and the Pad Thai had just 5 shrimp (five - yes, I counted them). There are better options available in the area so we probably will not be returning to this establishment.

I'm surprised by some of the poor reviews of this place. I've been coming to Jasmine (which is apparently "Thai Pepper" in Santa Clara) routinely for the last two years now (I've eaten there at least 20 times in that period). It is very very close to Santa Clara University (now my alma mater), and so, whenever I tired of Benson food (the cafeteria on campus), which happened a lot because SCU's campus food isn't worth serving to starving people in Africa, I'd head over to Jasmine for some great Thai food. I mostly come here for lunch, though I've been to Jasmine for dinner a couple of times as well. The service can be really good, when it's busy, or hit-and-miss when it's quiet. I've ordered a lot of items off their menu and everything I've ordered has tasted really good. That said, my typical order is always the yellow curry with pork. The waiter will ask if you want the curry mild, medium, or hot. I usually go with mild, because the Thai version of "medium" is very spicy. For an appetizer, I always get the Satay Chicken (it's very yummy), and I can feel good about it because it comes with a small plate of cucumber salad. The crab fried rice and the soups are also very good. And, I would highly recommend the Thai Ice Tea - it's basically an Asian milk tea with Thai spices. Very unique, very unusual. The prices are very decent: you can get a great lunch for under $15. The ambiance is great too. Jasmine is mostly frequented by students and professors of SCU, as well as other working professionals in the area. Tablecloths and wine glasses on all the tables, plus it's very clean and utilizes a lot of natural sunlight (two of the four walls are glass).

Went with a group of coworkers for lunch. Lunch specials are mostly $7 each and are fair size portions and tasty. The one thing to watch out for here is that when they ask how spicy, the MEAN it. A few coworkers said "medium spicy" and they were sweating. Everyone who had it "spicy" was either sweating or downed a few glasses of water. I personally handled my super spicy fried rice tactfully with water. Just be warned. The ambiance is gorgeous. I've never been at a nicer Thai restaurant. It's really, really beautiful inside. Service was crowded at lunch, do don't come to get in and out because we rarely saw our waitress and had to hunt her down for our check after we had been there over an hour.

I'm a regular here because I used to live right down the block, and even now a little further away I drive to pick up food from Jasmine. I get it togo to save time and $, and that way I can eat what I want and just stick the rest in the fridge (the portions are big!) After trying most of the menu over the past 4 years, my favorite order is the Tom Kha with prawn spicy, Drunk Noodles with chicken, Pineapple Fried Rice, and of course Thai iced tea. Perfect for a meal for 2 and around 40. I also like to come here for lunch on a nice day and sit outside, it's facing Franklin mall so you look right at the fountain and grass courtyard if you sit against the glass.

I've been frequenting this place a lot lately, and used to go all the time when it was Thai Pepper. With good reason. I honestly haven't had a bad dish here yet. Especially high on my list are the yellow and panang curries, though garlic tofu is a winner as well. Regardless of what I order, I tend to go with the full-on Thai spicy preparation, and I'm happy to say that they do bring the fire. I could probably make a meal just out of their appetizers... satay skewers, anyone? It also helps that they offer delicious boozy beverages, the sake being my weapon of choice. Also: weekday lunch special cannot be beat. Seriously, friends. Do it--savor the noms and save the dollars.

Service on Friday lunch was slow. The tables did not turn. Once it came, the food was great. Lot's of flavor and adequate portion of protein. Get there before noon for lunch. Parking was also tight.

First time here and will not be coming back. 2 out of the 3 dishes that we order they were out of. One of them was the Pad Thai which I found very strange. The part that really bothered me was that the table next to us was seated and ordered after we did. They would receive their food before us and guess what 2 of the dishes that we were told that they ran out of were served to them. Talk about a slap in the face. Food would of been average if some spice would of been added. They may default to mild so if you go there make sure to specify what level of spiciness that you would like

Good thai food. We actually went to eat at thai pepper which is at the same complex. But thai pepper was closed. And there was a sign at the door saying go to jasmine. I guess they have the same owner. We tried Hor mok chicken. That is pretty good. Also tried thai basil chicken that is good too. We also tried vanilla ice cream for desert. It was well decorated. The service was good. And place looked nice. My wife tried another day. That time the food was just ok. I never wrote a review for thai pepper. But if I give Jasmine 4 star then thai pepper deserves a 5 star.

I had to dock these guys because service was terrible. When it's a slow Wednesday night, is it necessary to take forever with the check? Considering the varying reviews here I'll say this: Inconsistent. And unfortunately I have gotten slow service each time.

I love this place, when it was Thai pepper and now that it's Jasmine... They moved into a swankier location, but the food has not changed too much! It doesn't matter what i order here it's always delicious, today i had the Vegetarian See Ew, my mom had the Eggplant Prawn and we splurged and split an order of the Royal Prawn Rolls Everything was so yummy! but, it always is! you can put on a blind fold and point and be happy with whatever they bring you at this place... my only complaint is that i don't like when the tails are left on shrimp within a noodle or rice dish... it's messy... they used to take the tails off... i don't know if this is a new thing?

  • Carina M.

Constant 4 star reviews, yet the food and service merits 1.5...well, my food was lucky to even *get* 1.5 stars from me. It's either people don't get out that much to eat good food or they just have very low expectations for places like this. Service: it felt like an eternity...I checked my watch and calendar because I was fairly sure they took so long that my next menstrual cycle was up. I know I finished up just last week. TMI? That was how slow service felt to me. To make it even *worse* was that we had ordered appetizers - and the appetizers came out AFTER a friend's main course had arrived within 5 minutes of having placed that order. Appetizers came with our main meal...15 minutes later. If you are running a lunch special, one would think that ordering off the lunch menu would be quick - because every other restaurant between here and the other countries I've lived in has lunch menus and the food is out in 15 minutes or less, letting you get in and out in under 30-45 minutes. Not this place - clearly crowded and very good for their business. Too bad they run slower than paint drying. Food: I ordered Pad Thai and I won't be coming back here for it - it had an odd taste and not at all like other Pad Thais I've been experienced locally and internationally. The best dishes were the appetizers (summer rolls and chicken satay) and the main dishes my friends ordered (yellow curry and chicken with eggplant). Service alone won't make me come back here...not for dinner, not for a snack...not for anything.

I went on a Sunday night the place was full but not fully staffed which MIGHT be why i wasnt that satisfied. However, I agree with most of the reviewers... We had to ask for a menu, waited 15 mins to be asked for our drinks, at which time we ordered our entrees. Entrees came out, we ordered: beef salad, bbq pork, spicy chicken and calamari. The calarmari and beef were well over cooked!! Very tough to chew! The bbq pork had at most 2 pieces that we could actually eat, the rest consisted of pork fat! All of the entrees were slighty warm..which probably meant they were all jus sitting out=not cool. We spoke to the manager about the food, she decided to credited only the beef salad but and did not apologise about the service and food quality. I think I forgot to mention the Thai lady yelling in the kitchen the entire time :) Overall, my roomie and I were decidiing what to eat and deceided on Thai but Krung Thai was packed so we decided on Jasmine..BIG BIG HUGE MISTAKE it was my first and last visit!

Jasmine has a great selection of Thai food at extremely reasonable prices. The food comes in plentiful portions and has great flavor. The lunch menu also is awesome because it's pretty much all inclusive. The servers are very nice and very accommodating. Jasmine is a great place to come for lunch or dinner and sometimes they give out free dessert! It's like a surprise!

The food tastes good, the Thai chicken wings were really good, right amount of spices. Seafood salad was ok, just a bunch of scallops, shrimp and squid in a watered down sweet and spicy sauce. Drunk noodles were pretty good. I'm going to keep this place a 4 people it looks pretty nice inside, never thought Franklin Mall even had a Thai Restaurant cause its filled with a bunch of dive bars in the back. Gotta go back and try the pad thai and other thai stuff that my girlfriend doesnt like haha. Oh yeah they gave us a complimentary fried bananas with coconut ice cream, which was good after a spicy meal.

I'm very disappointed in this place. While Thai is not my favorite my wife LOVES it and we decided to eat lunch here since they have outside seating and it was a beautiful day. My wife had the prawn curry and brown rice. My 6 year old son had a fried rice dish and I had the seafood salad. The food was mediocre at best, but my seafood salad was terrible. The service was poor, especially with regards to timing (pathetic). My dish was served last and spent WAY too much time on the stove. The two scallops in my "seafood" salad were tough and chewy as was the shrimp and other "mystery ingredients". The only plentiful item was squid. I guess that's how they keep their margins high. AVOID!

With the abundance of thai restaurants in the area, I thought that I would not be able to go wrong with any random place, but I was proven wrong by this place. Bad service - slow taking orders/bring utensils Bad food - mediocre sauce with dry chicken meat(very big No No, the chicken should be tender and juicy). Dirty place - dishes are stained. To top it off, I came here around 1pm and the place was virtually empty(which should have been a tip off to me, I know), so there should be no excuse for the bad service, dirty plates or bad food.

Yummmm! Thanks to Yelp for leading me here! Came here with my husband before a concert at Mission Santa Clara and was very pleased. We were seated promptly, ordered and our food came out all within15 minutes. We were very impressed since the restaurant was pretty crowded when we came, even though it was a Sunday night. We also really enjoyed the food. I had pad thai prawns and my husband had some seafood curry. Both were very delicious. The flavor in the pad thai was not as in your face as other pad thai I have eaten, but I actually preferred it that way. Sometimes with pad thai you tend to be getting sick of the flavor after about the fourth bite (at least I do), but that was not the case here. Very delicious all the way through! I would definitely return here if in the area. The atmosphere is good, nice decor, and delicious food at reasonable prices.

Jasmine has become one of our favorites. The food is consistently good, the staff is always pleasant, and every now and then a free dessert magically appears. Who can say no to mango sticky rice? The pad Thai and pad see ew are great, and the curries are consistently good. I appreciate that each curry dish actually tastes different. So many other places just have a generic curry flavor they pour atop overcooked veggies and mystery meat. Not. Here. I assume the food is authentic; a friend that spent a year in Thailand raved about it -- that's all it takes to prove authenticity to this gringo!

Never coming back here, and would recommend anyone to steer clear! I ate here once with my mom years ago. The food was good, but I don't remember much else. That's beside the point of my one star though. So one day me and my boyfriend were craving Thai food as usual, and I mentioned this place to him. That was an extremely frustrating 45 minutes... Just trying to figure out where this place is located was hard enough, so when we tried calling the restaurant for directions was a nightmare. They couldn't understand a word we were saying, and then they hung up on us!!! That's fine, though. We've discovered our new love, Thai Pepper. Cheap, fast, and absolutely DELICIOUS. Oh, and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful! Complete opposite of Jasmine Thai, well, at least as far as their customer service goes, because we never had the chance to even pick up our order before they rudely ignored our calls.

Wow, it must have been awhile since I last went here because it used to be Thai Pepper and they moved just a few doors down to a bigger joint and changed their name! But, still the same great food and service. I have been coming here for lunch for the past 5 years as it is very close to work. I usually get take out, but I have also dined in as well. The women who work here are very friendly even though they are running around with this little heads cut off! They always manage to put on a smile. They have a great lunch plate menu for only $6.95. Today I got the chicken green curry (mild) plate lunch, I'm sooo "American" and can only handle the mild "American" spice. I'm in the process of eating it now with some good ol' Jasmine rice. Delich! I also ordered the egg roll appetizer which is yummy when dipping it in my green curry. On other occasions, I have ordered the pad thai or all varieties - yum! Garlic Chicken and Catfish, Fried Banana and their thai tea - all yummy! Now, I just looked at their website and it's interesting that their menu says that is features traditional Thai fare, along with a modern fusion of Vietnamese, Korean, and Japanese selections. Hmmm... I guess I have never looked at the menu long enough to realize this, but I will have to go for dinner sometime and see.

The decor is quite engaging. That said, the food left something to be desired. I ordered the BBQ pork fried rice and and things went south when the waitress told me 15 minutes after ordering (while there were only three active tables) that the Chinese sausage was out of stock. Then the pork was mostly gristle. My dining companion's soup arrived without a spoon or utensils of any kind and the spoon that did arrive after two requests was dirty. It's really a shame that the experience was so bad. The setting is lovely, it's within walking distance for me, and I have no desire to go back. A pity.

Cute restaurant (chic decor), good service, tasty food. I came here on a Sunday night (stays open pretty late for a Sunday) with the bf and he ordered a curry fried rice dish (red curry mixed into the fried rice) and I got a pineapple red curry jang (vegetarian) with brown rice. The food was quite tasty, but I particularly enjoyed my dessert: $4 for fried banana with coconut ice cream! mm mm good! 2 scoops of ice cream with 2 fried bananas topped with whipped cream and a cherry, plus squiggles of chocolate down the sides of the plate. I cleaned it all up! Yummm

I would rank this place 3.5 stars since we had a huge party but the food was coming out sporadicly, so dinged .5 stars since we had to asked where our dishes were. Overall the food is hit or miss to me. The pad Thai and yellow chicken curry was great but sweet and sour salmon wasn't too appealing to me. If you go in a small group get the calamari, it's super crispy and it's big pieces. It's straight crunchy!

Have been coming to Jasmine Thai since my very first date with my hubby! The food was delicious then and again when we returned a couple of years later for a family celebration. I'm sad we don't live in Santa Clara anymore, otherwise I would definitely go more often. I think their prices are mid-range... lunch specials are super value for money! Love their Drunken Noodle with Chicken (spicy) and Thai Green Curry. Very nice looking restaurant, clean interiors and great service (most of the time).

Today, I feel like I want to have nice Lunch Special so I ordered Fried Noodle "PAD Kee Mao" Turn out to be very bad because they put so much cooking oil and I was trying to eat , try not to complain but I can't because so oily. They help to return to Re-cook but it already ruin my lovely lunch. I think many people would like this place because they did not know what the Authentic Thai food taste look like. I will not go back there to eat again and I will not recommend to my co worker and all peoples that this place was not take-care on how Thai food that should be cooked. I should not give any star for the rating for This Restaurant. ************* Never coming back here *********** ********* Think twice if you want to eat good Thai Food here ******** *** BESIDE FOOD SO OILY which Not even close like real Thai food ****

Went for bday lunch for couple of girls here. Food is still good but found out that service can be spotty. But there's this waitress who may seem mean but she's the one you want to serve you because she's good when it comes to service...well actually excellent. The others may seem nice and all but not too reliable...but I still love them =)...5 stars for food and 3 stars for service.

My co-workers and I eat here at least 1-week. The ambience is nice, seating spacious and quality of food delicious. I usually order the chicken pad see ew and am always satisfied with quality and portion. The Thai iced tea is refreshing and not overly sweet. Parking can be a problem here, since there is limited street parking and the parking lot is shared with multiple businesses. If you come on the weekend, you can stop by the Farmer's Market and get some fresh produce after your lunch.

Consistently decent Thai food. Not super great, but never bad either. However, I think that I end up going here more because it seems to be the best out of the local options (the Krung Thais have been off their game lately). Nice decor and friendly service. Beware the level of spice though, it can get hot.

This place is beautifully decorated and looks pretty fancy when you first walk in, but the prices are still very fair and probably cheaper than some other places, especially for dinner. I love coming here because the atmosphere is quite nice. I'm not that adventurous about Thai food mostly because I can't handle spicy, so I tend to stick with things like yellow curry, pad thai, and pad-see-ew, and this place is definitely yummy for those simple basics. From eating with friends, I know that the crispy spicy catfish is also really delicious, and even when you as for medium-hot spiciness, it's not that bad. If you're someone who loves spicy, they'll ask you if you want "Thai hot" or "American hot" (apparently, Thai spicy is way hotter than American......), so it's nice that they're mindful of that. Occasionally the service is really slow even though it's not crowded, but in general, they're really friendly and even give good recommendations!

Great lunch spot with most lunch specials at $6.95. Stopped by at 12:30 today and was quickly seated. Food service was very fast. In fact, the entrees arrived before the appetizers. Will definitely return.

Really good Panang Chicken, my friend had Red Curry. Good size portions (Dinner), decent beer prices (3 bucks) for a decent price (about 10 bucks) Solid Thai food. I've only been there once but I intend to go back.

I have been here a handful of times. Mostly I get take out but the atmosphere is great inside too. My favorite dish is the yellow curry with vegetables. The prices are reasonable but compared to other places you may get a little less for your money here. The quality is high though! super delicious!

We went here yesterday for my friend's 22nd birthday. I usually order the Pad Thai or Yellow Curry from this place, but last night I wanted to try their Rad Nar. Unfortunately the rad nar here didn't cut it for me. The gravy was too liquidy and the beef was really tough. I think I'm going to stick to the pad thai and yellow curry from this place. The pad thai from here isn't too sweet or too bland..it's perfect! The curry also has a nice balance between the curry flavor and coconut milk. Prices are reasonable considering the decor and presentation of the place. My dish was around $8. Since it was my friend's birthday we received a complimentary fried banana with ice cream dish enough for nine people!

3.5 stars. When you first walk in through the back entrance you get the feel like it's one of those hole in the wall kind of places, but then you go in and everything is very contemporary. The decor is really nice for a Thai restaurant, I'm use to those Thai themed places. We went in blindly and items were hit or miss. Service was quick and friendly, she gave some good recommendations. My favorites were the red curries, most notable the seafood curry. And it was cheap compared to some of the places we've been to too! The Drunk Noodles and Basil beef we ordered were on the bland and dry side. I'm limbo about coming back, good cheap eats though. We shall see Yelpers!

we had the soup, eggplant, the fried fish. Soup was OK fried eggplant was a disaster, it was cut into huge pieces, it tasted nothing but heavy grease the fried fish had a thick skin on the surface, all is deeply fried, you can taste that this was a frozen fish. Didn't like the food at all, maybe because of the dishes that we chose, and we went there for dinner rather for lunch.

I just went here for a friend's birthday dinner and it was really good! The portion and the price are totally worth it. It was super quiet in the restaurant, which I found surprising. The restaurange decor is really modern, sheek, and comfortable. Another great thing is that there's alot of PARKING. No worries about where to leave your car! I ordered the Pad Thai, which was really good. (Then again, I just love Thai food). But, really, it was good. The waitresses were constantly refilling water, so that was nice. Everyone was satisfied with the food. At the end of meal, to top everything off, they gave us complimentary icecream and fried bananas! How awesome is that?! I would definitely come here again in the future.

Last night, I was working late with the hubby, so I ended up not cooking dinner. BOO HOO So at 9pm, we opted for Thai food near his office. Two words for this. Classically Awesome The water goblets are beautiful, the restaurant is spotless and immaculate. NICE way to start dining, when water is immediately brought to the table. We both shared the appetizer sampler. Shared the seafood salad And each of us got a soup. I opted for Duck noodle soup ANd he got the chicken noodle soup. The appetizer sampler was extremely delicious. Crispy and lightly fried egg rolls, fried shrimp rolls, bacon wrapped chestnuts on skewers, and large skewers of chicken meat satay style. It came with a peanut dipping sauce, sweet chili sauce and pickled cucumber sauce. DEEELISHUS The seafood salad had a spicy vinaigrette, and contained scallops, shrimp and squid, all grilled, light and refreshing. The soups were served HOT and with al dente noodles, thick pieces of chicken and duck. The broth was flavorful, and the aroma was wonderful. I really enjoyed the service and the fact that even though it was 9am, that they didn't hurry us out. Their decor is beautiful with plenty of parking and very clean. WE WILL RETURN

Walked in and was very impressed by the decor. Modern and clean. We were supposed to meet some friends for a late lunch but we arrived a bit early so asked to sit at the bar so we could order a snack since we were starving. The lady looked at us like we were a little crazy for wanting to do this but accommodated our request. We decided to order the pineapple fried rice along with a Thai Iced Tea for the hubs and Thai Iced Coffee for me. Everything came out really quickly and I thought they were really tasty. The hubs wasn't a big fan. I think he was turned off that there was a little more fish sauce than usual on the rice but I didn't think it was too overpowering. We ordered off the lunch menu which was only $6.95 including soup and salad. Even though we were sharing they gave us an extra soup which was nice. Though the plan was to order another entree when our friends arrived, we were too full from the rice with enough to take home that we just ordered dessert. Again the lady looked at us like we were crazy when we ordered dessert while everyone else was having lunch. The fried banana was sprinkled with sesame seeds and though we found out later that there was a choice of ice cream, they served ours with coconut ice cream topped with sprinkles. According to the hubs, the sprinkles made it so much better. For me I could have done without. The banana was fine though we saw it sitting on the counter for about 10 minutes before it was served to us so it was room temperature, not warm and the ice cream was icy. It was okay but probably wouldn't order it again. I also sampled some of the Tom Yum soup that my cousins ordered which was really good. Overall, I'd give the food 5 stars but the service 2. I know that our party may have given them a little bit of a hard time with people arriving at different time, but it didn't help that they responded with glares. They also seemed really understaffed. Perhaps it was a larger crowd than usual since my cousins said that when they come it's usually pretty empty. I really could have understood slower service but the glares put a damper on my enjoyment. I will definitely give this another try since it's hard to beat the price and the food. Hopefully next time the service will be better.

There's nothing inherently awesome about this place, but it earns a five though sheer lack of fault. The food is always good, the service is always snappy, the lunch prices are excellent, and the place actually looks pretty nice inside. Oh and be careful what level of spicy you order... even the medium gives a good kick.

I am a big fan of this place. Great food and good customer service. This is my first choice among various Thai restaurants. I recommended few of my friends and they loved it. Very traditional look great ambiance. If you are a strict vegetarian remember to ask the waiter to prepare the food with out fish oil. I love this place looking forward to go there soon :).

My bf and I have boycotted our once favorite Thai spot and we've been on a mission since to find another go-to Thai place. Soooo, I think we found one!! Thanks to yelp and my bf's search, Jasmine Fine Thai is now our go-to Thai. Yelpers gave this place 4 stars, so it must be good enough to give it a shot. Also, it's 1mile from his house so WHY NOT, right?! The place is easy to get too but we ended up parking at the back of the restaurant and entered through 1 of their 3 entrances. We thought it was odd that this place had 3 entrances but hey, maybe it's planned out to be that way. It's my thing to always order Pad Thai at any new Thai restaurant I go to. I feel like Pad Thai is like Fried Rice to Chinese people. The signature "can not screw up" dish. The Prawn Pad Thai was not bad at all. I I thought the texture of the noodle was good but slightly on the sweet side. Maybe if they added a little bit more chili, it would have been perfect. Also, they are not stingy with their shrimps! I ate 4-5 of them and there was still plenty left in the dish! I like their pad thai here! The bf's favorite was the basil chicken. To me, mild was pretty hot so becareful if you can not eat spicy. We also tried the green beef curry with eggplant. Okay, I'm not a total egg plant person because I've had my share of mooshy eggplants and the texture was not my favorite. The eggplant here was TOTALLY different! Not mooshy at all and was actually good. The portions was more than enough for the both of us. We will be back to try the other items on the menu.

My co-worker brought us to this place for lunch and was very pleased to find a tasty Thai restaurant near by our offices. The decor is open, airy and pleasantly appealing to the eyes when you walk in. I highly recommend this place for business lunches and large groups. So, go check it out.

I'm a sucker for Gai Pad Gra Pow (Basil Chicken)! I'm still looking for my favorite, but Jasmine's does a find job. What I like the most is that they give you enough sauce to douse your rice with! Also, I love that you have the option of brown rice. We also ordered the Pad Thai which my fiance holds dear to his heart and the Won Ton Soup. Their soup is nicely spiced with lovely dumplings. It also has iceberg lettuce which I'm not used to, but was pleasantly surprised with. We will be back!

I went here twice. Once it was for a friend's birthday. Whenever i go to a Thai restaurant, I always play it safe with my yellow curry and pineapple fried rice. This time I decided to venture out and try Pad See Eu. Most dishes are about $8-12. The waitresses were very nice and happy to serve. The interior decor is sophisticated and modern, it's very clean. We were about 8 people, and food arrived in a good amount of time and at about the same time, so no one was left waiting while others eat. I had made a great choice getting Pad See Eu! It was delicious! Noodles were hot and smooth and the amount of sauce was just right. At the end, the waitress brought us a large dessert dish of ice cream and fried banana which was complimentary for our friend's birthday! The warm fried banana and cold ice cream was a great, tasty combination! I would certainly come here again. Thanks to Jasmine Thai, I can add Pad See Eu to my safety dishes list!

Zero star. I paid for the ambience instead of good food. From Thai Pepper Cuisine changed the name to Jasmine Fine Thai Cuisine. I like the old Thai Pepper Cuisine---food was somewhat authentic. Jasmine Fine Thai Cuisine is Thai fusion and the food was horrible, it was so bland---from soups to entree. WTH? My last dining there was a disaster. It wasn't busy on a late Sunday lunch. After I've placed my order, the server came back and she placed my soup spoon directly on a table and not on top of the napkin. I was flabbergasted! As usual, my food was so bland (Tom Yum Seafood soup and a sauteed fish entree), I asked for a cup of hot water to drink. Instead, I was given a tall dessert plastic glass of scalding hot water!! I couldn't even lift the glass. I called the attention of my server and scolded her for not properly served me the right cup. I got so upset that I lost my appetite. She acknowledged her mistake.. She badly needs more training. I gave them three chances since they changed their business name but what I got in return were lousy food and service. Strike three and you're out!

Nom nom nom. The first time I came here, I actually came on a whim with a friend, just to check it out. Since then, I've been here about 3-4 more times and it's always fixed my Thai food cravings. I usually order the Pad Thai, just because I'm usually craving it in the first place. It's kind of sweet, but I like it. My friends usually get the curry. I don't really remember what each of them taste like, but I had the Panang curry the other day and it was pretty good. These deals are even better when you come for lunch because you get soup and salad (and rice for the curries). Minus one star because - They didn't ask me how spicy I wanted my food (I loooove my food spicy) last time I went - I feel like the food tasted slightly different each time I went. Minor inconsistencies? But, otherwise, the food is pretty good.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant EVER!!! I love everything on the menu but my go to items are Yellow Curry chicken, Pad Thai, Green Bean chicken, and Spicy Fried Rice. The flavors are so good. Also everyone that works there is so friendly. I have never had a bad meal or dining experience.

Ambience was great. Setup and atmosphere was very nice. However, the food did not seem up to par based on traditional Thai I have had many times before. In addition, the waiters and waitresses seemed so much in an hurry that they did not care about any customers. They messed up our order and they had us wait for the basic utensils...we had to ask for the obvious condiments with our meal. I would recommend the place but not at a busy lunch or dinner hours time.

We have been here multiple times, and are fans. The food is great and ambiance is great. Very friendly staff. They do get busy at times which affects their customer service but they find a way to make it up to you with a free ice cream or treat.

I can't remember who introduced me to this place. One of my sisters? Probably. Regardless, Jasmine Fine Thai Cuisine is a cute and solid place. The staff members have been nice to my family. This is our Thai food spot. I should say that the food is great and it is. At times, it's a hit or miss scenario. While I love items like the Pad Thai and the pineapple curry as well as the banana dessert, items like the BBQ chicken is just eh if I should even say that. I have enjoyed going to Jasmine for a while. Yes, the food scenario is not flat out good, but it hangs on its own. Parking can be troublesome if you're not quick. If only I can remember its location all the time. "Benton and Jackson. Benton and Jackson. Benton and Jackson." +: It's a cute and wonderful Thai restaurant, especially when you look at its layout and its surroundings as well as the helpful staff members. -: The food will either be a bulls eye or it will be quite a miss.

We went to Jasmine Fine Thai on a Sunday evening for a pre-birthday dinner. I had never heard of the restaurant, but was surprised and pleased to find that they had taken over the spot of the former Franciscan Florist space and the adjoining Chinese restaurant in the Franklin Mall area and remodeled the interior to be nice, modern, and sleek. I'm going to keep this fairly short, and simple: Food: Ordered a masuman beef and a basil chicken. Serving-sizes were decent, but for the prices that they charged seemed to be a little much. We also ordered brown rice, and there was barely enough for the two of us. They skimped on the rice which made me sad on the inside. Service: Service was decent, but just like their food was spotty. Ambiance: Nice ambiance and might be good for a larger-sized group. With the option of Thai Pepper next door, I'm a little torn on which to choose. For better food, and a homier feel, I think that I would opt for Thai Pepper instead.

Okay, I like it. Hidden deep in downtown Santa Clara, this place has a nice ambiance and somewhat standard quality thai food. The prices were pretty good for dinner, and the service is pretty good! Well, that's all.

This place was such a good find! Who knew a great Thai restaurant would be hidden in this strip mall in Santa Clara? I came with a few girlfriends after pedicures at the nail salon next door. What a perfect way to end the night! My favorites were the Tom Yum Soup, Green Curry, and Eggplant Chicken. The service was fantastic and I love it when Thai restaurants have their waitresses dress in traditional garb. Speaking of service, to top it all off, we got our dessert of green tea ice cream for free! Not exactly sure why, but I guess it happens on occasions. I'd definitely come again if I were in the area!

There are better Thai places in the bay but this place looks a ton more modernized than other places. Coming here for lunch was nice. The decor was nice and they give you soup to start. My friend had the drunken noodles which is extremely spicy. Think twice before you order no matter how enticing the name is. He was sweatin bullets after ordering that. We had to mix my pad see ewe with his dish so it wouldn't be so spicy. What stood out were the appetizers. We had the fried calamari which was delicious. The sauce they use and the cut made it unique (who knew Thai places had fried calamari!) it's a good place for lunch, or a dinner date for it's atmosphere.

This is one of two Thai restaurants in the same mall. I've tried the other one (Thai Pepper) before and really didn't like the food there, so this time we opted for Jasmine. I was surprised by how new and modern the decor was. It's unusual for this mall. I really liked how spacious the restaurant was. Now, the food. It was much better than Thai Pepper, but I thought the pad Thai was too sweet. Service can be slow if they're busy. Sometimes the servers forgot about the entire section of diners and just focused on one section. They became really attentive though after we complained about the wait, so kudos for them. Overall I'd recommend this place if you're in the area and looking to eat Thai food in a comfortable, modern setting.

I used to come here all the time for dinner but the portions got smaller and the items started getting inconsistent depending on what day of the week you came. Pros: *Great service - seated immediately and water is always refilled *Thai ice tea, mmm *Clean, nicely decorated *Good for groups Cons: *The beer on tap here is often old *Inconsistent with preparation and portions *Not too many vegetarian options Tips: *Rama Tofu is a good bet for vegetarians *Call ahead for takeout *Speak up if there's something wrong with your dish, they're kind and fast about fixing the problem Bottom line, definitely worth checking out but still in search of great thai in the Bay Area

Came in here on a hopping Wednesday night and got seated right away. I was hungry from being on the road all day and excited to be in what appeared to be a popular local spot. I had the Tom Kah Soup w/ Shrimp, which was pretty good, and the Vegetarian Yellow Curry w/ Tofu and Brown Rice, which was better. For a strip mall restaurant, not too shabby overall. I want to give them 4 stars, but since the overall service was serviceable (as opposed to friendly and looking you in the eye) I'm compelled to give them 3. If I'm ever in Santa Clara again, I'll swing by and see if I can force a laugh or smile out of them, then ring in a 4 Star Review!

this is one fine thai restaurant. it's so convenient coz it's so close to school. the place great, clean and you dont have to wait too long for the food. I came here with a few friends and had the Pad Thai. That was amazing. i started loving pad thai ever since i tried it here - perfect blend of sweet, salty, and sour(if you add lemon of course)and the drunken chicken noodles were yummy too. well, i have yet to try their other dishes. oh, the only thing that could improve this place is if they had dessert - like that mango and sticky rice thing. otherwise, the service is friendly. oh, they get lots of customers during lunch hours

Love this place! The lunch special is a great deal for the food you get here. It's really good, but I have to agree with some of the reviewers, it does take a while to get your food here, but it is worth it. I love their curry, I always get the Red curry lunch special. Love the salad, it has a simple yet refreshing dressing that I enjoy. The sizings are enough to fill you up, and definitely feels worth the price. The red curry has a nice typical taste I think (not sure about how authentic though, but its good!). It's great and very close to SCU for any college students craving some Thai food for a cheap price! If you're looking for some good Thai food this place is for you! (PS: The atmosphere is great here, good for lunch with a small group of friends).

Since Thai Pepper in Santa Clara has been closed, this has been my next "go to" Thai place. Restaurant has more seating than Thai Pepper and food is good. However, I still miss the old Thai Pepper. Papaya salad is good as well as usually have the panang curry or basil eggplant.

Awesome and very reasonably priced Thai restaurant close to SCU! Pad thai, Pad See Eew, and Red Curry are all delicious and portions are usually quite generous. Great lunch specials (I think $6.95 for most) that come with soup and mini-salad. I've got takeout several times for dinner and it's always been under $9. I make it a point to suggest this place for lunch or dinner when meeting friends in the area cause I love this place! Supposedly it's owned by the same people as Thai Pepper, but the difference in quality and ambiance is night and day. Oh, and $10 minimum for credit cards...

My husband and I went back to Jasmine Thai with another couple. Crispy Calamari - We ordered this appetizer the first time we went. I like how there were no tentacles. It was good and satisfied our fried calamari cravings. Jungle Curry with Beef - We were disappointed with this dish. It didn't taste like curry because the lemongrass and ginger basically overpowered the flavor. We would not order this dish again. Happy Snapper - Very delicious. Wished more fish came with the dish. Crispy Garlic Prawns - Very tasty. We even considered ordering a second plate. but $13 for 6 prawns ... we decided to pass. Eggplant Chicken - Not bad. The eggplant in this dish was pretty good. Chicken was ok not rubber-like. (I tend to experience rubber chicken in Thai dishes.) Service was slow, but the wait staff was nice and polite. We would return...but not order the Jungle Curry.

Very beautiful restaurant, it is a shame the food was disastrous. We went to have lunch (tuesday July 7th). I was very disappointed with the quality of the food. Especially, the fresh spring rolls: the shrimp was very old, with really gross black edges. Same for the shrimp fried rice. Very tasteless, the prawns were simply disgusting, probably frozen and defrosted several times. I couldn't even finish my lunch. Really disgusting. Probably I just had bad luck today, but definitely not going back.

This place has a good lunch special menu. There are about 10 different lunch plates to choose from for $6.95...awesome! I ordered the Yellow Curry Chicken which comes with chicken, potatoes and carrots in a curry sauce with rice and a salad. My friends ordered the Pad Thai, Eggplant and Tofu and Sweet and Sour Chicken, all of which looked fresh and good. The food is pretty tasty, its not the best Thai place I've been to, but it is definitely good. It is always clean and the service is pretty quick and they refill your water when you need it. One complaint is that they are not consistent with the level of spice they put in their dishes which is a little frustrating. I like food to have a little kick to it but not so much that my mouth is burning and I can't taste the food I'm trying to enjoy... but I definitely do not like mild. The first time I ordered a dish I asked for Medium spicyness...it was HOT! The chili was getting stuck in my throat and I had to drink water with every other bite practically. So given that experience, I ordered mild the next time....this time was way too mild I couldnt even taste any spice at all. So I guess next time I'll order mild-medium?! My friends ended up asking for chili on the side and they brought out a tray of different chilis; a chili powder mixture, a red chili paste, another chili sauce I was not familiar with and jalapenos. Anyway for $7 for a lunch plate of good food, I'll just order mild spicyness and add my own chili if need be, for $7 I can handle this minor inconvenience, and I'll keep coming back. =)

Gorgeous restaurant, but....looks can be deceiving. Jasmine platter (a whopping $15) was supposed to be satay chicken, prawn rolls, spring rolls and bacon wraps (water chestnut wrapped with bacon on the outside). Instead of "prawn rolls", it was skinny mini shrimp with batter on the outside. It tasted like something you'd get out of the freezer at a grocery store. Instead of bacon wraps, there were spring rolls that had no meat. What a rip off. The Mee Krob Rad Nah was supposed to be deep fried noodle with meat, bamboo shoots, mushroom and green onion in gravy sauce. It had no bamboo shoots, mushrooms or green onion, but instead this really soggy old looking green vegetable that turned almost gray looking, canned mini-corn and carrot. At least they got the ingredients in the green curry right, but it was watered down, tasteless and flavorless. The beef was tough and chewy. They didn't have coconut rice, only regular steamed rice. Be careful of what you order because you may not get the ingredients that they say will be in the dish. I feel like what I got was a waste of my money.

This place pisses me off!! Seriously! Deeee-yammmmmmm!!! I mean really! Khob kun ka (that's thank you in Thai), NOT!!!! After mass yesterday, I decided to come to Jasmine Thai for lunch! OMG!!! They offer cocktails for cheap and that's what they are cheap!! Not the price only but there is practically no alcohol. Those who come here beware, don't do the cocktails. Don't do it!!! Food is just okay...no big deal. Nothing special in particular. They really don't give you that much food. Just because they are right next to Santa Clara University doesn't mean they should jack up the prices for what little they serve. Tsk!! Tsk!!!

My first time at Jasmine Find Thai. Please keep in mind i have high expectations for Thai food after eating at Sala Thai (Fremont) pretty often. The quantity is pretty decent for the price. The appetizer combo is a decent sized plate for 4 to share easily. Hard to distinguish the curry dishes from other Thai places, pretty creamy and tasty though. I enjoyed the cashew tofu dish the most. The service was good with the servers attending to requests very quickly. They were also able to accommodate some changes to our reservation at the very last minute.

Terrible terrible terrible customer service. We went to this place for Friday lunch; I can understand that there would be wait, but here, the place is quite empty, but making people wait in a random order. they are so un-organized ,that they don't have a waiting list, but rather keep patrons waiting for a random time. It took 40 min to get the table, and then took another half hr for the waitress get our water glasses. Once the order is placed, it took over a hour to get our order to the table, but to our surprise, its the entree, not the appetizer. We reminded the waitress about our appetizers, but all we got was "they will be here". While we were finishing our main course, they served the complimentary soup ; Again we reminded the waitress about our missing entree; Then along with the check, they got us our appetizers. I don't understand how asking for an appetizer prior to our entree so freaking hard to understand; Any restaurant that doesn't respect their patrons deserves one star.

2.5 stars. Not a fan. Three pages of veggie selections. However, the food is just okay. I got the drunk noodle jay. My awesome and kind friend (who treated me) got soft crab shell/mango salad and spicy veggie fried rice. His fried rice was definitely better than my food. The food is not seasoned enough unless you order extra spicy and make sure you ask for hot sauce (they will bring over the real goodies like jalapenos, chili sauce, chili flakes and fish sauce/chopped chili peppers). The ambiance is nice but I can't eat ambiance. Give me good food, damn it!

If I could give NO stars, I would. Jasmine "Fine" Thai Cuisine has become a joke of a restaurant. It's the perfect candidate for Robert Irvine's "Restaurant Impossible" with service being absurdly slow (understaffed) and the quality of the food having become spotty at best. We have eaten here on numerous occasions and each time has seen the overall experience deteriorate. I could give numerous examples, from serving appetizers in a staggered fashion (dishes that should be hot come out ice cold) to simply not having the items on the menu available. In all cases they are things that could be easily avoided with some attentive management. To arrive at a restaurant, with guests, for a special dinner, and have one server attempting to handle an entire dining room with at least eight other parties is simply unacceptable. Our most recent visit will be our last visit for sure. It's too bad because the place has/had tremendous potential.

Fantastic lunch prices and menu items! My favorites are the panang curry-spicy, yellow curry, pad thai and the pineapple fried rice. The serving portions are huuuuuuuge for lunch so you can even save some for dinner!

We were completely ignored when we walked in, so we sat ourselves. After waiting 5 minutes for someone to notice us, we had to wave someone over and ask for a menu, and do the same 10 minutes later to order. There were flies buzzing around us through the entire lunch. We had the Pad Thai, drunk noodles, and panang curry. They were all pretty good and big portions. Overall, the service was awful and the food was alright. I'd recommend going to Thai Pepper on Fremont ave instead.

The decor of this restaurant is very nice making it very comfort to sit and relax. The menu is broad and has many choices. I need to go back more often to try out all their dishes. The food is very good with the exception of the beef in their drunken noodles. I need to try out other beef dishes to see if it is that day, that noodle, or just the way their beef is.

It was my first time coming here yesterday with my GF, and might I say that I was very disappointed. The food was good, but the service sucked! And when the service sucks, the whole eating experience becomes unsatisfying. My GF and I ordered the Pad Thai noodles and the roasted duck curry and the sampler as the appetizer. The sad part was that we had to wait 20 minutes for our APPETIZER to come, just the APPETIZER! I remember a group of people came in 5 minutes after they wrote down our order and STILL got their food before us, ALL of their food! And we still hadn't gotten our APPETIZER! Wow... After talking to the manager and telling them about the problem, finally, out comes our food. And I mean all of it! Goodness, it took us 30 freakin' minutes for crying out loud! But that's not all........ In my order, (the pad thai noodles) there were egg shells in them... Yes, I said EGGSHELLS! I took a bite and wondered, "why the heck is it crunchy?" Turns out to be AN EGGSHELL!!! Anyways, I put that aside and continued eating, and shortly after I complained to the manager about the eggshell issue. And all they told me was "so sorry!" I am very, very unhappy with my experience there. Please, whoever is reading this review, don't go here! Save yourself some time!

I went there yesterday with my family. We had purchased a gift certificate from restaurants.com for $25 off with at least a $35 purchase. We got there and immediately loved the atmosphere: their furnishings were modern/Asian inspired and had a cute romantic touch. With that, we expected our meal to be pricey. BUT... it wasn't that bad. It was the usual prices for Thai restaurants. Nice! We ask the server if they still accept the certificates, and sad to say they didn't... Boo! BUT... she'd still give us $10 off our total bill. Awesome! We decided to take out one dish we decided on and stick to 1 appetizer and 2 main dishes, and white rice. There were 4 of us. The portions were perfect, the taste was awesome. We had Calamari appetizer (just the right amount of seasoning); Pad See Ew Chicken (yummy, the noodles were huge!); Panang Beef (one of the best I've tasted) and they gave us a sundae on the house! I can't wait to go back and taste more of what they have to offer, especially with the desserts. This is a great date place! I highly recommend it for dates, but be careful with the spicy food! They lose a star because the lady who kept refilling our water had particles in it... not bad particles, but just particles.

One of my favorite places to call a "treat" to go to. I cannot go there without ordering the chicken pad hai(spicy) but overall, food is fabulous! Service is great and friendly!...Great place to dine with either friends or coworkers and location is convenient.

We went there for dinner last Monday. It was one of the worst experiences. First of all, we ordered the veggie spring rolls. The waitress didnt even bother to serve water till we asked her. When the appetizer came, we had to ask her to give us plates. Did she expect us to eat it out of the serving plate? Plates arrived later, but only 2 sets for a group of 4. Then when we ordered food, we clearly told her it everything on the table is supposed to be vegetarian with no meat/egg. Still our curry had chicken in it. When we pointed this to the waitress, she simply took the curry and our plates. They also sent our credit card and the receipt to another table. Whenever we wanted to order something, request for plates or even pay the bill, one of us had to go to the counter to tell them. The staff was very inattentive. Totally unexpected and unprofessional. Will never be going there again.

so... i really want to like this place. i really liked thai pepper before they scooted everything over in the same complex. plus, franklin mall has a very special place in my heart. it holds my favorite nail salon and clothing boutique. for that reason alone, i've been to jasmine three times. boo. i'm never impressed. the quality of food is nothing to write home about. the prices are slightly higher than usual. plus, the last time, i came in ten minutes after opening. the rice they gave me was disgusting. like, dry, hard, very obviously kept overnight and microwaved. since the service is always incredibly neglectful, it took me 15 minutes to flag down a waitress. she didn't seem surprised the rice was nasty, and gave me a side of wild rice "on the house!" like she was doing me some huge favor by giving me something palatable after avoiding eye contact with me for 15 minutes. seriously, if you're an asian restaurant and you can't even get RICE right, you don't deserve to stay in business. i mean, seriously, you lose $2 if you throw out that entire pot of rice, you cheapskates. you've lost that already in what was supposed to be an easy repeat customer.

I went here last night for a group dinner for a birthday party and have to say I was quite impressed. We had a group of 10 and were able to make reservations for 6:30pm which was nice ever though the restaurant wasn't too busy, but you never know! A few extra people showed up to the party and the staff there was nice enough to add another table for our group. I ordered Veggie Spring Rolls, Pad Thai Tofu (w/o egg), and a Thai Iced Tea. All of it was great. I didn't think Pad Thai was a very hard thing to make and I've had it at other places before, but this Pad Thai tasted better than the Pad Thai I have had from other places. At the end of the meal, the staff brought out a cake that somebody from the group had brought with them. They even added candles to the cake then turned off the lights as we sang "Happy Birthday." I thought that was going above and beyond. I would definitely go here again.

Maybe a bad weekend but I agree with the last reviewer, good food, lousy service. We went there for drinks and dinner last weekend. Notice the order of that....drinks and dinner... It's not really that crowded, maybe 1/2 full with a large party leaving. And they don't appear shorthanded as there were a couple of guys moving tables, getting water and clearing tables. At least 2, maybe 3 waitresses for 10-12 tables. We wait 10 minutes to have someone come take the order. We wait another 10-15 minutes to flag down our waitress to see what is taking so long. Really, how long does it take to pour wine? Then our appetizers come. 2 minutes later our drinks come. Kinda wanted those when I sat down 20 minutes ago. Then a minute later our entrees come and we have barely started the appetizers. Needless to say, by the time we finished our appetizer, dinner was cold. I was pretty annoyed so we just got a doggie bag and left. I've been here 4-5 times and really like the food ( I finished the leftovers yesterday, they were great) but the manager/owner better get on the service. I'll give them another chance but if that happens again, I won't be back.

I've been here a number of times. I am a fan of the lunch specials which are under $10 for a salad, soup, and entree. The service isn't bad either. When they are slower of course they are more attentive, but even during busy times they still manage to attend to your needs. I like the look, it is more contemporary and simple. They are close to home and do not seem to have the larger crowds or waits associated with the Winchester Blvd. Thai Restaurants I am thinking of. I definitely recommend them!

Last night I decided to give this place a try, but it was kind of late so I chose take out instead of dining in. I ordered the pad Thai and spicy basil fried rice. I asked for super spicy... Thai spicy! My order came out tasting the opposite. I had to re-cook my noodles with my own spices at home. Huge disappointment! If you like your Thai food spicy, on a scale from 1-10, 10 being the highest, this place is a disgrace if they even tried to come close to a 3. In fact Thai food is one of my favorite types of food, and this was the sweetest/non traditional Thai I have ever had.

The owner of this place also owns Thai Pepper right around the corner. As an individual who lives in the nearby apartments and goes to the local university, I come here often. The staff is friendly and there always appears to be seats available for patrons. Appearance, which matters at a place like this, is great and you can see it in the china they give you, as well as the glasses for drinking. My personal favorite is the curry. I take it as un-spicy as possible because I just can't eat that spicy of food. Service, along with the food, is very quick and they are always willing to provide suggestions. The only thing that I think this restaurant could do better is to make their menus look a little better. The menus do seem a bit crinkled.

I have been holding out on writing a review for Jasmine Thai, but after today's visit I think I can give it a fair rating... Today marks my 7th visit to JT (no no no, not Justin Timberlake *sigh*). My very first visit to JT was with a party of 12. I think we were there within the first few weeks of opening. Yelp was a topic of conversation at our table. My table mates knew that I "Yelp" and everyone was a critic to their dish. hahaha. Some ppl at my table were not satisfied with their dish and some were satisfied. We ordered an array of appetizers and everyone ordered some type of lunch special dish. To get to the point, I was pretty pleased with my dish and the appetizers. However, several of my coworkers prawns were either undercooked or bad. One person had to return her dish because it was too spicy. Deserts... took a very very looooong time to get. It almost seem like the waitress forgot to put the order in. To compensate for the loooooong wait, they gave the deserts to us on the house. Which I thought was pretty generous. People in my party weren't too please with our visit. Some vowed not to come back, but I wasn't so quick to agree with that yet. I believe they can still do so much justice, so much effort was put into the restaurant, such nice waitresses, a great price on the lunch specials and so close to work! I was still willing to give JT another try... Fast forward a week later... I suggested to my weekly date to meet at JT. oh-my-gawd, were my instincts correct. JT did it. Our meal was close to perfection. The first Thai restaurant in a long time that perfect the word spicy. It's Thai Spicy alright, cause I couldn't handle it. We decided to order two lunch specials and share the entrees. Yum, the prawns were cooked. Yes, the prawns were cooked. Yep, cooked! :) The Fried Bananas and Ice Cream was delightful. My only suggested is not to put the rainbow sprinkles on them. Save the sprinkles for the kids bday cake please. After the second visit, we have been back once a week to get our Thai fixing. Sit in the same booth and trying different combinations of their lunch specials each time. Now our Fried Bananas doesn't come with sprinkles. I think JT knows us by now. :) Very friendly staff and they are really working hard to get the 5 star ratings. JT gives off a great first impression. You walk right in, and your expectations of the restaurant will be set very high. A lot of effort was put into the decor and creating a sweet Thai ambiance. If your first visit is a little bitter, go back and give them a second chance. They are fairly new, sooner or later all your expectations will be met. My overall ratings: Food: 5* - . It's Thai spicy, if you cant handle spicy, go with mild. Service: 5* - Friendly and nice Price: 5* - Lunch Specials $6.95, includes soup and salad. Including desert and tip, a party of 2 averages $25 dollars. Parking: 2 * - could be very tight. Restroom 5: - Super clean. Great decor.

They are NOT open until 10:00. We arrived at 9:24 and they would not seat us. We ordered take-out and they set up paper plates outside on the patio for us. We were fairly distressed and they accommodated us as best they could, brought us water and hot tea in plastic cups.

I went to Jasmine Thai restaurant on 12/04 for dinner. We got a table immediately. The restaurant looks very nice. The table were nice, very comfortable seats. The temperature was a little bit cold but after noticing this, the waiter turned off the A/C. I noticed that many dirty plates with left over were still on some tables after customers have left. The waiters didn't take the time to clean those tables. It is a big No No for me. No let's talk about the food shall we ? For appetizers we ordered the Thai spring rolls with shrimps. You had friend tofu on the inside. They served the dish with a very sauce just spicy enough to make the dish beautiful in your mouth. For the main course we ordered chicken yellow curry with steam rice. From my point of view the chicken was not cooked enough and was still pink in the inside. It was just cooked that's it. It will have been nice to have the chicken cooked for at least 5-8 more minutes. I don't think they cooked the chicken with the curry sauce. The just added piece of chicken on top of the curry and they mixed quickly everything. To get a good curry you need to cook the chicken inside the curry sauce. Like this the chicken has all the curry sauce savor. In conclusion I went there once because I really wanted to try this new place. But I don't think I will go back. If you want to get real Thai food just go to Krung Thai restaurant...

I believe Jasmine is owned by the same people who run Thai Pepper. Thai Pepper has better food. No comparison. But...Thai Pepper is incredibly small, very crammed and very cluttered. Jasmine has a much more updated look and A LOT more space. So..pick a priority, really good thai food in a crammed outdated space (Thai Pepper) or good thai food in a modern spacious restaurant (Jasmine).

I have visited this thai restaurant a number of times. The place has a good ambiance. Food is amazing. I have tried almost all the curries here and they all were perfect. Waiters are prompt. The prices also are reasonable. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to try out Thai food.

There's a new kid on the block. Thai Pepper I love you, . In the same mall, 6 or 7 doors down there is a new Thai restaurant has just opened. I don't know the logic, I guess they have different menu's or something. Thai Jasmine just opened close to one of my favorite restaurants. Thai Pepper is small but the food is delicious. Zero atmosphere but good food is what I expected when I went there. Now Jasmine Thai Cuisine has opened and is bigger, prettier and has great food. Brand new with a great view of the fountain in the little garden area. Comfortable booths (leather!?) with a very modern look. Chairs that looked to small until I sat in one. I guess this is what they would call a fusion restaurant, if that term is still trendy. Very modern looking, not like most Thai restaurants that try to look traditional (see any of the Thai Peppers, specially 3). Nice seating at the bar with a TV for watching the game during lunch. The food is delicious. Seems like they have tried to give a twist to a lot of Thai favorites. They had these great Jasmine martini's made with Korean Soju. They looked almost to pretty to drink but I'm not about to do some alcohol abuse and waste the precious fluid. Try one, you won't be disappointed. We started with the Jasmine appetizer platter. It had the expected satay, along with spring rolls, prawn rolls along with something I had never tasted in my life. I think they call it grilled bacon wraps. It's water chestnut wrapped in bacon. Amazing flavor and texture combination. That was a home run for me. The 4 of us each ordered a different dish. We had Koong Ob Woon Sen (shrimp and silver thread noodles), sea bass in lemon sauce, spicy catfish and panang lamb. First I have to say I made the best choice. I ordered the panang with lamb. Tender slices of lamb covered in the best panang sauce I have ever eaten. Totally delicious. The catfish was spicy, tender with a fresh fish taste and smell. The shrimp were jumbo shrimp cooked with tasty clear noodles. The shrimp was a tad tough, but flavorful. The sea bass was flaky, juicy covered in a tasty batter. Very good eats! A few more Jasmine martini's and mmm mmm good. It was their grand opening so they had traditional Thai dancers and singers. Very nice. A taste of Thai culture while gorging on some delicious eats. Thai Pepper, I still love you, but I'm afraid I'm going to be cheating on you. Please forgive me. I can't resist the temptation. I hope you will forgive me, but yes I'm a 2 timer now.

The location of this restaurant wasn't the greatest. It wasn't a sketchy neighborhood or anything, but it was really in the middle of nowhere. It's in a tiny plaza in a quiet area. I would have never noticed had I not planned to eat here and mapquested it after finding it on Yelp. The food here was good. I usually can't tell what's good or bad Thai, but I could definitely tell this was good Thai food. My picky friend also agreed with me as she piled more and more food onto her plate. The cost of dinner wasn't bad; it was the same as most Thai restaurants. So, better than avergae food for average price. :)

Talk about a hidden gem in Santa Clara! I came here with my parents about 8 months ago and LITERALLY have been back twice a week since then enjoying their DELICIOUS food! This place has everything you can ask for-- a great menu, very friendly staff, a beautiful decor, AMAZING food and GREAT prices!! I've been coming here for lunch and dinner and they have never ceased to amaze me. I'm glad to be a regular here and be welcomed with a huge smile and Hello everytime I come here. Their Pad Thai, Pineapple friend rice, "Money Bag" appetizer, and Yellow curry are to DIE for!! Also, their fried banana/ice cream dessert is like a slice of Heaven! I love coming here week after week, kudos to Jasmine for being the BEST Thai restaurant I've ever been to!

Came here with a friend on a Monday, the ambience was lovely, with chic decorations for xmas still up. Overall I was impressed with the feel of the place, however the food left something to be desired. We ordered the cashew duck which was good, have it with rice though, as it can be a bit salty. The curry lamb was overcooked and bland. We also had to request for more spices (if u like it hott) the hot sake was nice, but they had a listing of Thai sake, and when we asked the waitress what the difference was, she couldnt answer :P $50 later, it wasn't really worth it

Basil Lamb, Garlic Shrimp and some clear soup that I don't remember the name but was really good too. That's the extend of what I tried here but I love it! It was a very pleasant surprise to find this place. The decor was very modern. The staff was really helpful without being too overbearing and the food was amazing. Parking can be a little difficult but you can park on the streets too.I will definitely go back.

This Time ........by Tianna This time I went to Jasmine for lunch. All lunch entrees $6.95 + tax = $7.52 I ordered panang beef First I was a little disappointed because lunch menu says lunch orders come with salad and soup. hmmmm..... Being my ever suspicious self, I wanted to confirm this info because I was ordering to go and for some reason restaurants want to void your soup option if you order to go (wtf!). So, I said "do to-go orders come with soup" Jasmine Thai lady said "we ran out of soup".....suspicious...doubtful..... But silly me, I assumed I might still get some salad. Tick tock.......I'm home. I open my styrofoam and wouldn't you know - NO salad AND - no panang beef. They gave me somebody's pineapple rice. I mean....thanks, but no damn thanks, I wanted my curry. They close at 3 for lunch and by now it was 3:08 but fortunately they answered the phone. I told them what was up and they told me to come back. So, trek trek trek back over to JT. Now, for my troubles they did give me a Thai Iced Tea, and it WAS good but for a mistaken lunch plate and a trek back, I want my soup and salad. Arghh..... I think I'm not into their to go vibe. I'm eating in from here on out so I get my due side dishes and more reliable service. Oh yeah, my panang beef was good but still not spicy enough....I added Siracha. Sigh...... Temporary demotion to 3 stars

New restaurant. Fresh, modern decor. Friendly service. We had the fried calamari to start, which was quite good. Lightly breaded and seasoned, not at all chewy or greasy. I liked it a lot. We also ordered pad thai, garlic eggplant and a fish dish called Seabass Delight. All the dishes were good. I am a fan of pad thai and I really liked this one. Not too sweet, but still full of flavor. The Seabass Delight was also really tasty. I'd order it again. As for the eggplant dish, it was good, but could've been better if the eggplant were cooked just a wee bit longer. For dessert we had the mango with sticky rice. This was our favorite. My husband and I shared the dish, but we could've each had our own and finished them both! The location is near the Santa Clara courthouse and there is a pretty fountain outside. We'll definitely go back.

Came for lunch. seems like they got the $7 lunch specials. had the pad thai. the sauce was not as flavorful as other establishments but portions were BIG. i usually can finish lunch portions from other restaurants but it was too much for me!! There was way too many bean sprouts in my pad thai and the chicken wasn't as flavorful/fresh. (I do not have high standards) Decor of this place is very nice, very new and clean. Parking is limited so you may have to park on the street.

The interior is contemporary Asian; classy, with a mellow atmosphere (then again, we went in right around their afternoon closing). Ordered the crab cakes, which were a very delicious appetizer. A tad on the expensive side, however, hence the 3-star rating.

Adorable Thai restaurant! I had lunch with my friend Casey the other day and we decided to try Jasmine. Right when we walked in we were greeted by the hostess and we were seated quickly. As we were looking over our menu, we were brought soup and salad. I ordered the pad thai. Our food came out pretty quickly and it was really good. I could have shared my pad thai with someone and still had a good amount of food. Gorgeous decor, great food and oh yeah - the music playing...was that 98 degrees I was hearing or N'Sync? Definitely some good old 90s boy band music to go along with lunch which I found just a little out of place... I think each lunch was $7/plate and it came with soup and salad. Very reasonably priced!

Jasmine is like a less crowded Krung Thai with better service and a more modern- styled Thai Pepper. gone are the kitschy thai decor, and in with the pretty glass lamps and dark wood ambiance... but the price is still fantastically decent!!! came here with a friend before the dinner rush started. we both were feeling like getting some chicken satay, and it was nicely grilled and the peanut sauce was plentiful. but then we felt like getting a little kick in the sauce and we asked them for hotsauce or an equivalent. they came out with four different types of hotsauce/ chilli peppers, and this made me secretly giggle like a three year old on the inside because i LOVE chillis/ hot peppers. away from the hotsauce and off to the real food, i did like their green curry [chicken, not beef- cause beef has a higher chance of being too tough to chew and therefore not as awesome...], and my friend liked the shrimp with the coconut coating on it. jasmine is situated in an awkward little mall near santa clara university and a few doors down from thai pepper in franklin square. there's not much to look out the windows, but at least it's attractively decorated inside... or you can pay more attention to the person you're eating dinner with. whatever works.

The food is good. The quality of spiciness and flavor can vary based on what cook is working that day. The convenience of it being across the street is also good. The prices are reasonable, and the decor is fantastic. I think the waitstaff is really friendly. All in all, a very decent place to come for a meal when you are around Santa Clara University.

Yummy food! Clean friendly place. Service is great and your always greeted with a smile. Luch time between 12-2 can be packed. Prices for lunch specials $6.99 cant beat that! If you go often they wil even throw in a V.I.P. card- 20% off! why wouldnt you eat there? I get brown rice instead of white. Love this place!

My review is for take -out order. I came in during a lunch time to make an order to-go.One of the girl give it menu to me and disappear. I was standing in a middle of restaurant with a menu...Nobody even offer me to have a seat...Other girl take my order. But still not offer me a seat. I move to bar section and have a seat there,to not be on a middle of running waitresses. At a bar section I expect to get an offer for a glass of water while I waiting of order. But I don't get any attention from a girl at bar. During my waiting I notice that place is clean, pretty decorated. But unfortunately service is just terrible. Food arrived pretty fast and taste ok too..

Probably on a weekly basis, the boyfriend and I eat at Thai Pepper, which located in the same strip mall as Jasmine Thai cuisine. We get the usual: a panang curry chicken (mild) and then some other entree that supplements our curry consumption. I really like Thai Pepper a lot-- it's good food and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to have a decent dinner out. But after seeing Jasmine Thai, I told the boyfie that we should try another Thai restaurant for comparison. Upon entering Jasmine Thai, I immediately noticed the tall, skinny waitress from Thai Pepper working at Jasmine! I gasped, and my first utterance was, "Oh my gosh, did you quit Thai Pepper and move over here??" She smiled, shaking her head. She took 2 menus from the bar and led the boyfie and myself to a table. After sitting us down, she looked at me and replied, "I'm working here now. This restaurant is owned by the same owner as Thai Pepper." "Oh, wow, that's great," I replied (what do you say in such instances of supposed-restaurant-(non) competition-drama?). So, to reviewer Hiram-- don't feel bad about "cheating" on Thai Pepper. Think of it as Thai Pepper giving you permission to date her twin sister, Jasmine. The boyfie and I ordered our usual panang curry chicken (mild), and had the spicy catfish. We started with the chicken satay appetizer which was totally tasty. The chicken was tender and moist, and the peanut sauce was good. After eating at both sister restaurants, I like them both, but both restaurants serve a different purpose: Thai Pepper is smaller and more laid back (for a family night out), and Jasmine Thai is a bigger place with updated decor and has a slight "upscale" feel.

great food, not crazy busy, great service, reasonable prices. Highly recommend it, been there twice and did not disappoint.

I remember when this place used to be a Franciscan Florist shop. Anyways, I thought it was weird that there'd be two Thai restaurants within a few storefronts from each other. There's definitely more variety at this restaurant. Thai Pepper has the more usual foods (pad thai, pad see ew, pineapple fried rice, curries, etc.) but this place offers more selections. For example, crab fried rice. That dish is awesome! I don't know why but the peas, carrots, and crab meat taste so good together! Ok, maybe the msg may have lent a helping hand as well. The service there is pretty friendly too. I was easily able to strike up a conversation with the staff (my friend and I were debating the flavor of the candy they pass out when you pay). Their cashew duck is also really good. At a glance, it looks spicy because the sauce is chili pepper red, but it's not at all. I need to come back here and try more of their food, if I can resist the temptation of the crab....

Discovered this place a little while back and have been a fan ever since. The food is delicious and fresh, average portions but enough. They have an extensive menu and the decor is pleasant and the atmosphere is relaxing. Their Basil Ground Chicken is delicious!

this place would have received 5 stars if the service was tightened up a bit. other than that, this is a great place. the atmosphere is quite cozy (along with the cozy squishy booths) with calm lighting and interior decor. it's a bit confusing to find out what to do once you walk in, because my party wasn't approached when we entered the door. when you do find a seat, though, it's quite relaxing to just take a look around the restaurant. the food tasted great- i recommend the fried calamari, beef salad, and tom kha yum (sp?) soup- our entire order basically ahahah. service kinda lacked.. it was pretty slow thought but STILL.. service should never be lacking.. especially during slow time. the area is kind of random.. which is not a bad thing though.. lol.. just thought i might add that. bring a date here~

Ate here for lunch Jan 5 and enjoyed experience: parking is convenient, portions are large, food was spiced properly, soup was hot (including small complimentary cup), service was attentive (specifically didn't need to ask for water refills).

Positivies - Nice setting, good for groups, efficient service. Got free complimentary dessert. Negatives - Food was OK. everything was a bit on the sweet side. No one in particular hated their food but no one was too excited either to make this a favorite. The drinks that we ordered were disappointing as well. Tip - Thai iced tea is disappointing here. Also might be a good idea to make the spice level HOT considering everything we tried was little sweet.

I went here sometime last week as we ready the reviews and were not too sure of the place....The place is actually very nice, and we really enjoyed the food.... The thing that really bothered me was the service...Man they were they slow at times....the lady who took our order was not helpful what so ever...We asked for suggestions on whats popular and ended up getting two of the same dishes in different sauces.....It's very important to go somewhere and try to go out of your way to provide that extra services.....but on the other hand one of the main ladies really seemed friendly and kept coming by after she noticed we were pretty ubset.... I definitely enjoyed the food and would suggest you try the chicken with egg plant which we really enjoyed, and the Pad Thai was also one of the few i've had that really didn't have a bad odor.... I also suggest trying our the dessert they have....hand made ice cream was amazing.....Good spot would definitely go back....

I like this place, I really do. The food is essentially the same as old Thai Pepper food, but a bit pricier. The service is slower, in my opinion, but still very welcoming and accommodating. I love their flavors, especially the basil beef and pineapple fried rice. The atmosphere is way better, I'm a huge fan of their new digs and spacier seating. But it seems to have lost the quaint Thai charm. Again, I just miss their old pricing and the home-like feel of their old place.

I haven't been to Franklin Mall in a while and Jasmine Thai is a nice addition. A little more upscale than Thai Pepper, the décor is very nice with lots of items on the walls that are Thai inspired. Nice tables and chairs as well as booths with really good lighting. I paid way too much attention to the décor since we spent a while deciding what we wanted to eat. The menu is very extensive and they have lots of vegetarian options. We ordered the money bags appetizer, beef drunken noodle, duck curry and spicy seafood. The money bags were ground chicken with corn and other seasonings wrapped in flaky dough tied with a green onion strand. It comes with a spicy but sweet dipping sauce. Really good and would definitely get it again. The duck curry was my favorite but really only because the curry was good. The duck was a little fatty, they add grapes and pineapple to the curry which I didn't like. I don't like sweet tasting food and definitely don't like fruit in my food. But the flavor was fantastic! We ordered it medium spicy and it was right on. The spicy seafood was not spicy enough, only had 3 shrimp, some cut up scallops and fish with green and red peppers and onions. Really great flavor but not enough actual seafood. The only disappointment was the drunken noodle. It didn't have any vegetables and it tasted like gas. Like they put a torch on it and the flavor was just off. I would definitely go back again to try some other items and since they have a coupon on restaurant.com , I'm sure it will be soon.

I can only comment on the YumTum soup with Prawns. I called my order to go (med. spicy) and was told 10 minutes. This place was very busy. The phone was ringing off the hook, so I expected good things. I had to wait a very long time to get my soup 30 minutes, even after people who were just seated were served their food... so they comped an Thai ice tea. I was so hungry and looking forward to trying this soup, but was very disappointed. The soup was in fact unedible. The flavor was fish soup with hardly any spices. The prawns were so over cooked they were mush. I ended up tossing the entire soup after just a few bites. $15.00 down the drain, literally. I will never go back. You just can't beat Bangkok Taste in Los Gatos.

We live down the street from this place, and have never tried thai before. While walking past it a few weeks ago, we figured it would be a nice place to start. The decor was very modern, and almost seemed americanized! Perfect for first time Thai people! :) We ordered a few dishes which we would share. They forgot the appetizer which they later brought out cold (pork ribs) The curry sauce wasnt very warm either. But the chow mien was very good. Like everyone else has mentioned, the decor is beautiful and very bright. I noticed they had lunch specials posted on the door, but didnt read it. O and they offered ice cream & sundays for dessert.

This place was interesting but overall we really liked the food and the restaurant is beautiful and very clean! The "BBQ Beef" appetizer advertised as Korean BBQ tasted like liver and unlike any either of us had ever had. My husband had shrimp pad thai- it had a ton of shrimp, was a huge portion and he loved it. I had the yellow curry chicken and it was awesome. They had brown rice that was dynamite, fresh and hot. We ordered the fried banana for dessert, it was so delicious! The to-go containers did not fit the restaurant but I look forward to eating the leftovers tomorrow.

Good food. Ok ambience. Very noisy during lunchtime.-1 for that. Once your order arrives no one is going to look at your table. We waited for 15 min so that we can ask for water and check. -1 for that.

Nice venue, great place for families to gather. The food is tasty. It's not the best Thai food I've had, but it's pretty good. The service can be lackluster (we had a bad experience with a waitress at Thai Pepper @ Franklin Mall from which I am still recovering). I like the soups on the menu a lot. The spice on the mango salad gave me what felt like salivary gland cramps, it was so mouth puckering--a little goes a long way. I like eating here with my family, mostly for the atmosphere and the convenience of satisfying the Thai food craving when in Santa Clara.

This place is awesome! The restaurant is really pretty and clean inside. I love all the decorations they have up. The food is really great too! I've had the garlic prawns, garlic chicken, pad thai, soups, appetizer platter, fried rice, red curry, and a lot of other dishes. Everything I've had there has been delicious. It's a great place to eat, and they have good lunch specials too. I end up eating there a lot. The only thing about it that is not that awesome is the service. Everyone is super nice there, but every time I go, it's really hard to find our server or get her attention. But that is definitely no reason to not eat there. Like I said, the food is really great and the restaurant is nice. I probably eat there once every other week.

An amazing little restaurant with good hearty food. As mentioned, they have lunch specials under $10, but their a la carte menu is fun and they range the food from medium to spicy. They have "drunken noodles", which I 100% recommend. One star deduction for being too far, but it is a wonderful place to go and eat on a Saturday afternoon when Franklin St. is having their Farmers Market.

This place was really yummy and really nice ambience. Service was quick and friendly even for being a busy dinner hour. Since I am half thai myself - i have to say food was good/authentic enough for my taste - nothing can ever come close to my mama's home cooking but compared to the other thai restaurants around (tee nee thai, krung thai) this ranks just as high.

I love yellow curry chicken, one of my favorite things to eat. We live just down the street from the new Krung Thai and I thought they had the best yellow curry around...that was until I went to Jasmine. If you are a fan of Yellow Curry go here and you will not be disappointed. Best I have ever had.

We had the lunch special, Pad Thai & yellow curry. The lunch specials are good deal and you really can't beat the price, the service and the atmosphere. The Pad Thai however, was too soggy and too sweet. The yellow curry has a lot favor but the chicken was overcooked. It was X'mas eve today and we were wondering if the main chef was on vacation. However, we will give other dishes another try. They also gave us free desert (fried banana with ice cream) on X'mas eve which was a great gesture.

I went Jasmine Fine Thai Cuisine with my hubby yesterday by san jose coupon book. This restaurant is in a hidden place but the location is actually very nice, next to a water fountain. You may choose outside tables. The decoration is nice and the whole restaurant is neat. The watiress is friendly but the serive is kind of slow. I guess it's because they're too busy to serve outnumber customers. We ordered BBQ pork, seafood drunken noodle, yellow curry with beef and thai iced tea. Their curry is very delicious and so is thai iced tea. BBQ pork is just ok. Drunken noodle is nice compared to other thai restaurant I have been to in Cali (The best one I ever had was in Patayya restaurant in Philly!!!!!!). Overall, food and decor here is nice and I would recommend anyone who is interested in good thai food. Would definitely come here again.

Service was slow. Coconut milk soup was OK, not special. Garlic chicken was too heavy handed in its use of garlic, even though the name forewarned. When they ask if you would like rice to accompany your dish, they do not mention brown rice is an option. Prices were nothing special. The major plus of our meal was the kitchen's fulfilling our request to make a vegetarian dish without garlic, peppers and onions. They did a great job of flavoring eggplant and tofu with basel.

I went here for my birthday and wow was it good! I got the appetizer combo platter, the crab fried rice, the duck soup, and the yellow curry with chicken. I highly recommend the rice and the duck soup if you're looking for something new. The yellow curry is really sweet, but it's pretty good once you get over that. However, I can't recommend the thai iced tea, it's way too intense and sickly sweet for me! The decor is super pretty and it's really close to SCU.

I've been going to Jasmine since it opened, and I used to frequent Thai Pepper, also in Franklin Mall, run by the same owners. So I've been a fairly regular customer for many, many years. But I have to say that the restaurant seems to be going downhill lately, both in food quality and in service. First re: the quality. Something in my recent meal there caused me major gastrointestinal distress--either the yellow curry with tofu or the curdled Thai ice tea (see below). The waitress didn't ask me how spicy I wanted the curry, and it was a bit spicier than I usually get (mild to medium), but it was also very watery and the tofu was very soft. As for the service, my food arrived about 5 minutes before my friend's (and both were pretty standard lunch specials; hers was pad thai). I'd ordered a Thai iced tea, and after a couple of sips, I realized that the milk in it had curdled. (I'd thought they used coconut milk, but instead they use half and half, fyi.) When we finally got the waitress (one of the three who took turns serving us during our meal) to come over, she didn't come back with a replacement. When we got her attention again a few minutes later, she said that they only had the one carton of half and half, so she hadn't thought I wanted a replacement iced tea. She did eventually bring over a "straight" Thai iced tea--with no milk--which she said I could try and that she wouldn't charge me if I didn't like it. It was very strong and very sweet but drinkable (and the food was so spicy I needed something to drink), and a few minutes later brought over a small cup of something which I think was coconut milk (or half and half from a new container?), and which was fine. But she should have really apologized for bringing me a curdled ice tea in the first place and probably not charged me for the replacement. In any case, after this meal, I spent much of the afternoon in the bathroom. I don't know if it was bad tofu or the curdled half and half, or something else, but I feel reluctant to go back. I'd been noticing the last few times I went there that the food wasn't as good as it used to be (and the service varied from very good to below par), so I don't know if there are new cooks or new management or other problems. Certainly, whoever is running the kitchen should make sure all the products are fresh and edible! I hope they can improve their food quality and service, since it's a beautiful restaurant in a convenient location for me and many of my friends and colleagues. I may give it one more try before giving up on Jasmine.

Well, where to start, um, the food was average. I think what bothers me is this: my husband and I went there for our first year anniversary, and so we expected nothing but 'spectacular,' we start off with drinks. My husband asks for a pina col..da, the lady said we don't sell those, OK its on the menu, whatever, we order Thai tea and the milk is past the expiration date. We order new ones and they were much better. My husband orders an extremely fatty duck, and I get a potato-ish yellow curry. For dessert, the fried bananas which I admit were yummy, but sprinkles on ice-cream at a fine dining restaurant? Good place, just don't order what we did, except banana dish.

I ordered a salad with grilled chicken ( i can't remember what it was called) it was eh. I'm not a fan of iceberg lettuce salads and the grilled chicken pieces were dry. My friend enjoyed his curry. To be fair, I didn't order something that Thai cuisine is known to do well. I'll update the review after I try something more traditional.

Service and food quality can be spotty. Love the decor and cleanliness here. Great variety for lunch. Watch out for the beer choices. Everytime I have come here, they have always been out of draft beers. You would think they would replace the keg at least once in a while right? They are also out of half of the desserts most of the time. Aside from the spotty service and food quality (and the unavailable items), I would probably visit again, but it won't be my first choice.

I was very happy with this restaurant. The food was great, and although I would say it's not quite spectacular. the portions were generous. The service was very prompt and friendly, and there was almost a local feel to the restaurant, with a lot of groups conversing with the service and having a great time. I was the most happy with dessert (mango and sticky rice... my favorite). The place had a very opulent feel to it, with one of the fanciest menus I've ever seen. It was a little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

First of all, if there is "0" star rating on Yelp, I am gonna give "0" to this restaurant. This restaurant is HORRIBLE! We went there for lunch today and the service just unbelievably sucks. We waited for our dishes forever and it never came. Eventually they told us the food got accidentally canceled. How come??? Ridiculously, they even charge the tips on the bill coz they were worried about we were not giving good tips, how sad it is! BTW, one of my coworker threw up after lunch... We swear we are going back any more!!!

This place can give Krung Thai a run for its money as best Thai spot in SC. The food is spot on. Definitely try the fried sea bass special and the crab fried rice. Portions were pretty generous as well. The service is excellent. My parents don't eat much Thai, and the waiter gladly offered suggestions. Food came promptly and drinks were refilled frequently. Despite the fact they forgot to add pad thai to our order, they more than made up for it by comping us dessert. It's all good, it just gives me another reason to come back here.

I have eaten at this restaurant twice within the last month. I really like the setting. It is nicely decorated, and it is a very comfortable restaurant. I do wish they would use fabric napkins rather than paper. The food can be hit, or miss. The vegetarian rolls (not fried) with peanut sauce were very good, but the corn cakes were not thoroughly cooked and were filled with uncooked batter. The grilled honey roasted duck was also very good, but no one at my table liked the Rad Nah with fermented soy beans . I didn't like their house salad, but loved the grilled squid salad. I will dine here again.

This is formerly Thai Pepper which was a much smaller, less chic place a few doors down in Franklin Plaza. At the new location, the food is great, the service is great and the decor is fabulous. This new place feels very classy - quite a change from the former Thai Pepper. Plus there is tons of seating at this new location! Same great high quality food and some is even better than before. We highly recommend Jasmine.

This is the best Thai food in the Bay Area! I have ordered the garlic chicken twice and never have a drop left! The service is not the quickest but it is certainly worth the wait. Lunch prices are incredibly reasonable, looking forward to trying more dishes on the menu!

We're retirees who live quite near Krung Thai on N. Winchester in Santa Clara, but yest. aft. we hoped to find another/cheaper place in the Franklin Mall (out the back of Santa Clara U.), so we parked near Thai Pepper where an old white-haired guy (like me) siting on a bench told us it had combined with the co-owned new, big Jasmine Fine Thai nearby that I'd often sat outside during the Sat. Farmer's Market which proved to be a truly 'grown-up' place: their appetizer tray's a new experience for us (delightfully rubbery Thai sushi w/ mild peanut sauce); what came as a sudden surprise was the massive amount of [brown] rice that came with our main dishes (chicken, eggplant); the very helpful waitress offered us even more [brown] rice to take home with what we couldn't quite finish (due to the very large portions). I'm sure we'll always come here from now on, instead of Krung Thai even tho it's much nearer to where we live. Why? The big, comfortable tables & big bowl of [brown] rice really did it for me. (As for how authenticaly Thai it is, I can't pretend to say.) -Bill Costley

This place is awesome. Up until they opened I was loyal to Thai Pepper, the neighboring restaurant. Jasmine is owned and run by the same people so they offer the same menu but much much more. Everything we have tried there has been great but the other night hubby and I ordered yellow curry for the first time and WOW...FANTASTIC! I have had yellow curry at a lot of places, I even make it but this one was knock your socks off DELICIOUS. They must add some other spice besides the curry that neither my husband and I could decipher. Regardless, it was soooooo good! We take out usually but I have eaten at Jasmine a lot too. Decor is great, service is adequate and ambiance is wonderful. But go here for the food...you won't be disappointed! ***UPDATE*** Hubby and I took out from this place again tonight. It went from one of the best to disappointing! We ordered the same stuff (yellow curry - mild and basil beef - med). The basil beef had ZERO spice and the yellow curry seemed spicier. Seems as though they may have mixed it up? Also, both dishes had very little meat and vegetables but A LOT of sauce. We got jacked! The quantity was like half of what it was last time! So disappointing. Knocking the stars down to 3...

My new favorite Thai place in Santa Clara. I went in for their lunch special and ordered my standard Panang Curry with chicken. I was surprised of the large quantity of meat they included with my dish. And it wasn't tasteless chicken either... moist and juicy. For $7 before tax and tip, not a bad deal.

I went on a sunday to Thai Peppers but found out it was closed. Luckily this place was open. My favorite dishes was the pad see ew and red curry. Very delicious. Thai iced tea was very good as well. Seating is comfortable and able to accommodate groups of 4.

I am quite fond of Thai food. After trying a few restaurants in the south bay, i have finally discovered the place which i would love to visit again. Jasmine Thai has plenty of vegetarian options and the food is always very well cooked and delicious. They are consistent with their flavors and quality on all the visits I have made here. The ambiance is cherry on the top.

Food was ok. A good thai restaurant is typically judged by the quality of its pad thai dish. Theirs was just "ok." Parking was not convenient when we went but then again it was very late in the evening when the dinner crowd is heavy. Come to think of it, it's a good thing if parking sucks - it means people like to go here.

I am enjoying my leftover BASIL LAMB as I type this, and it is still really delicious (and quite spicy for being 'medium'). Whatever deep fried shrimp (cant recall the exact name) we also ordered was equally good. I was kind of surprised that this place was in the same shopping center as thai pepper. I like the food here better, and the setting is more of the modern trendy variety...a better place to bring a group of friends. the staff was friendly and there weren't any problems with service. I had a $25 certificate from restaurant.com for this place, and they notified me that they cut off that promotion, but they were very cool about it and gave us the discount anyway. I'll be back to try more of the menu.

Got take out again. Everything's still amazing. Add to this the crab fried rice. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. OH! and FYI, they had way more customers this time around. I'm glad their business is growing. If you haven't tried it, do it soon !

The decor is nice and modern, more than what you'd imagine from the typical Thai restaurant. The service can be a bit slow and spotty though. My favorite here is their crab fried rice. Besides that, everything else is just average. Do not order the Pad Thai. I made the mistake of ordering it because I was craving good Pad Thai and it was totally disappointing. They might wanna call it Sprout Thai because it hardly had any noodles in it...

Um, best Thai is Santa Clara, perhaps Silicon valley. Everything I seek in a thai restaurant. Clean, casual, good prices and delicious food. It's not an episode of top chef, but it is a perfect thai restaurant. Have been 2x with colleagues and we each ordered different things each time. Lunch special is like $6.95 each, SO MUCH BETTER than a sandwich or burrito or anything i can imagine for that price. I could do without the little salad, but the simple soup actually tastes good and wets the palette. Yay spicy fried rice, drunken noodles, yellow curry. good place for casual date or date with momma, or amigas. So unexpected for the little complex. Nice upolstery, looks like one area could be for private parties too...

The boss took me here my first day of work, and I came back on my own the second day. So I guess that means I liked it here! I had the same entree both days - pineapple chicken fried rice with cashews. Service was prompt (great for those on a lunch break) and portions were huge. The complimentary soup and salad were good, too, and brought out immediately before I even ordered. The atmosphere is nice, too - very clean and tranquil. This is going to be a regular lunch spot for me!

Wow, what happened? We returned here for dinner last night, and while the food was still ok, one of the waitresses was nice but the other was a bit on the rude side, and I felt like they wanted to get us out of the restaurant because our plates were cleared when I had JUST taken the last bite from my plate. What's more, no complimentary dessert. Did you forget? Did we not spend enough money? When you have a good experience at a restaurant, you return expecting some consistency. I certainly did not find that here. I really really wanted to like this place. Too bad.

the food was amazing, but don't bother coming here with a large group on a saturday night. if there are other large groups, it will take you an hour plus to get entrees on the table (and about 15 minutes to get drinks). luckily, the place is owned and staffed by very courteous, accommodating folks who recognize when they're running behind and fill your table with appetizers on the house to keep your stomach from crying bloody murder. i'll be back - but maybe in groups of 2 or 3 :)

This is definitely a hidden gem. We really liked the ambience and the service was great...friendly and quick. We ordered Tom Yum soup prawn (was very good), spicy jasmine chicken fried rice (was good ) and Jungle chicken curry (was just ok..will probably skip it next time). Also, at the end they gave us a complimentary desert ice cream which was kool.

I had gone here with my friends at work, food is awesome here. I orderd the mixed seafood curry and I absolutely loved it. If you are a seafood fan its a must have, Super like

Certainly not the worst, but not the best either. Go here for lunch, the lunch specials are reasonable. Dinner can be a rip-off depending on what you order. Mango Prawn Salad $9.95 - comes with 5 shrimp... seriously?! I can get a whole bag at Costco for that price.

Good price for Lunch. I tried the Spicy Catfish, the sauce is good but the fish is hard like re-fried or microwave cooked food. Wish to comeback and give them another try. Fish should be soft even fried.

I'm reluctant to just start throwing out five-star reviews to every food vendor out there, but I REALLY REALLY like this place. For this review, it's really more like a 4.5, but Jasmine's going to have to please me in future visits to earn that last star. I'm rooting for you guys, though, believe me. Please don't disappoint! I doubted that I would ever find a good Thai restaurant here in the south Bay. My experiences so far have ranged from ehhhh to severely disappointing. My frame of reference consists of the many places I used to frequent in Boston, which I'll admit is hardly the gold standard for quality and authenticity, but I figure you should at least be as good as my favorite places in Boston to qualify as good Thai. It should at least be good food. I'm so glad that I found Jasmine. It will be a good stand-by for future Thai cravings. Can't wait! The restaurant is pretty and clean. The interior is bright and comfortable, generally very welcoming and relaxing, just the way a restaurant should be. Their Corelle dishes make me feel like I'm eating at home! hahah The soft-shell crab and calamari were tasty but greasy. The calamari were breaded in Panko crumbs and surprisingly tender. The Som Tum (shredded papaya salad) was one of my favorite dishes of the meal. So simple, so fresh, so darn good. I could eat it by the bucketful. Go for medium spiciness--it just wouldn't be the same without the kick. The Tom Yum was pretty standard, flavorful but not as spicy as I'm used to. The grilled honey roasted duck was as delicious as the name. The fatty broth/sauce pooled at the bottom of the plate had every bit of the flavor, and I wanted to pour it all over my rice and gobble it up, but there were other dishes to taste, and there was no sense filling up with rice, even if it was duck fat soaked rice. Perhaps I'm still thinking like a college student, but I wanted to ask for that stuff in a box and bring it home for a poor man's honey roasted duck. On rice, of course. The yellow curry was nothing to write home about, but I'm partial to panang curry anyway. My sister took care of the yellow curry. The spicy seafood, though not at all spicy, was the other really memorable bright spot of the evening. Seriously, just try it. I can't do it justice. The only miss of our ensemble of plates was the prix khing chicken. Chicken and green beans sauteed in a chili/curry sauce. Sounds like it'd probably be good, right? It wasn't really BAD, but it was WEIRD. It was sweet. That was unexpected in a bad way. Why was it sweet? Blech. Guess you can't win 'em all, huh? But there are many more dishes for me to sample and many more chances to win that coveted fifth star, Jasmine. There's hope yet. And who knows, maybe that sweet chicken will grow on me. Random thought: there are some odd things on the menu. Spaghetti tomato sauce? Wha?

My family loves this place, which is not common. Every dish(only chicken), I tried was excellent. I have been recommending this place to my friends & colleagues and so far I have not heard any complaints. It is a small place, clean with nice decor. The service is excellent too.

This place was so darn hard to find! It's basically in the same plaza as Thai Pepper. My fiance & I just went to dinner w/ another couple & I thought the food was OK. We had the mango salad & there was more onions than mango! The decor on the inside is really nice & everything looks very clean. I like how the portions were plentiful though.

Was in the Franklin Mall area and decided to try this new Thai restaurant out. As we entered, I was already in love with the place with its modern Thai decor and couldn't wait to try the food. Decided to try dishes we don't normally order at our other "used-to-be" favorite Thai restaurants and was extremely happy that we did. The "Drunken Noodles" were a tasty alternative to any Pad Thai we'd normally order...and their "Jasmine Prawn & Scallops" have now replaced my usual Curry dishes...OMG was that dish delicious. The prawns were huge and the scallop soft (not overcooked) in a creamy yellow curry type of coconut milk sauce...I wanted to scoop up as much of the sauce as I can to eat with spoonfuls of rice! Decent dinner prices and I think their lunch specials are only $7.00! Can't beat that.

Wow, what a delicious change from the old standard 'KT'. I was very hesitant about trying Jasmine because of the reviews about the seafood having a funny taste. But, I must say that the food we got was very tasty and I will be back for more. This review is for take out: Yellow Curry - Very good. A nice flavor with good sized chunks of carrots and potatos. The chicken WAS chicken. Nothing 'plumped' about it. (unlike KT). The dish was ordered medium, and it was a little on the spicy side. Pad Thai - The favorite of most Thai restaurants. When I opened the take out box, my first reaction was the portion size. A little on the small size, but it was more than enough. The shrimp that we had with it had flavor and was fresh. There were about 8 pieces, which is more than most places give you. I do recommend this place and will return for more. If you have grown tired of your usual Thai place, give Jasmine Fine Thai Cuisine a try. You may like it too!

In simple terms, this place knocked my socks off! My husband and I ate dinner at Jasmine tonight and we couldn't believe the price, food quality, ambiance, and decor. The owners of this place brought fine dining to Franklin Square, serving Thai food, yet keeping the prices low. I literally thought I was in a nice Vegas hotel restaurant...they have their very own music station, an extensive bar selection, and amazing interior design. My husband and I ordered the Imperial Rolls, Cashew Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and brown rice. I guess those dishes aren't too adventurous on the Thai side of things but nevertheless, we loved what we ordered. We dressed casually but it's so nice inside, it could also be a good "dressy" date place for dinner or a go-to neighborhood restaurant for "in jeans" dining. I was talking to the owner and they also own Thai Pepper, which would explain why the food was so delicious, but in my opinion, even better than Thai Pepper! I'm a convert. Good-bye Krung Thai on Forest and Winchester. Definitely worth a try, if even just for the setting!

Jasmine is an excellent alternative to the busy, noisy (and sometimes lack-of-customer service) at Krung Thai. My husband and I have eaten here at least 4 times in the last 2 months and their service and food is very consistent. They are affordable too. We always order the yellow curry which is excellent!! We've ordered the Pad Thai, Pad Khee Mao and the Crab Fried Rice also. Pad Thai and Pad Khee Mao were good, but I like the Crab Fried Rice at Krung Thai better. I also took a friend here once and they undercooked the potatoes in the yellow curry. They took it back to the kitchen right away and brought us another one that was much better. They even served us complimentary ice cream at the end of our dinner.

Stumbled upon Jasmine thai the night of its grand opening since hatcho next door was closed. I was so surprised to see another thai restaurant in this complex! We ordered the summer rolls, vegetarian panang curry and an awesome basil eggplant stir fry. I liked the decor and the more upscale feel of Jasmine thai. It's a nice change of pace as I dont feel there are many destination restaurans in santa clara, outside of the santana row scene. I think with this new restaurant and ibi's boutique next door, franklin mall is getting a bit of a face lift which is I think is great. :)

Loved this place. Place was warm, had good lighting and good decor....we liked the place in first sight.... We wanted sofa seating for kids and got one. Myself and my wife went there with 2 kids (below 5 years). Good decor. Staff is very helpful. We enjoyed it very well. Red curry with rice - this was a bit sweet, I liked it but my wife wanted non-sweet spicy food. Rolls - very crispy, freshly made Chicken Chowmein - Kids loved this. Fresh coconut juice was worth trying In the end we were surprised to get a complimentary icecream. I will give it 5 stars as I enjoyed my every minute and dollar.

Beautiful interior and lovely location by the fountain on Franklin Mall--great for a date night out. The curries are very thin--I'm used to them being a bit thicker, but these are watery. The brown rice was also overcooked. The vegetables were fresh and there was a nice variety to them, but the consistency of their sauces really didn't work for me. All in all I would say good, not great, food, assisted by wonderful ambiance. I would go back for a meal out, but if all I want is take out, I would go somewhere else.

Definitely true to its name. Fine Thai Cuisine. The place is really nice and the restaurant layout is amazing. It's so simple, but very fancy. The food took a bit long to come out, but the restaurant was full so i can't blame them. the seafood salad was one of my favorites. The scallop was cooked so perfectly. Make sure to try the crab fried rice. It is one of the best fried rice dishes you will ever have. High end dining for low prices

Loved the food and the modern ambiance that Jasmine Fine Thai offers. Gotta try the Crispy Cat Fish, Mussaman Curry, Kratiem Prawn and of course the Pad Thai. Its across from the USPS and the Parisian looking fountain makes it a little romantic place to have dinner.

This is our new favorite Thai restaurant. My girlfriend and I have not really found a great Thai restaurant in the south bay until I found this place. We found this place through Restaurant.com and Yelp (thankfully). The restaurant is very nicely decorated, service is very friendly and most importantly the food is very authentic. Also the price is reasonable. We ordered pai-thai, kana-moo-krob, mixed seafood salad and chicken pad-prik-khing. They were all very tasty. We'll definitely pay Jasmine a visit again soon.

After hearing great things from friends, we were really excited to try a neighborhood restaurant. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The service was awful and the food was less than average. We were sat immediately, however, we were served much later than other folks that had come in 15 minutes after us. My husband asked for spicy food and there was zero spice. My basil chicken was funky, strange taste. We received warm saki instead of cold, the list goes on. Needless to say, we won't be back anytime soon.

We recently gave this place a try after a recommendation from a friend. You'll notice the very nice contemporary interior when you walk in. Service is good but a bit slow. The food however pleasantly surprised us. The dishes were flavorful and the ingredients fresh. They have too many items on the menu so it was hard to choose. Recommend the yellow curry, pad thai for entrees and the corn fritters for starter, the spring rolls were a bit tough.

Our family has eaten at many Thai restaurants, but Jasmine tops the list. It's new, in downtown Santa Clara, a quiet, secluded location. We were seated immediately. The decor is modern and while it is a Thai motif, it's not tacky, more like modern art. The dishes were elegantly displayed, what I would expect to find in a four-star restaurant. And the food, wow! We enjoyed the catfish, lemon sauce crispy chicken, and fried calamari. We left feeling like we had gotten enough to eat, at a moderate price. We will definitely return.

Mmmmm, Thai curry....I'm addicted. OK, well first I must admit that my favorite local Thai restaurant is in this very same plaza; just a couple doors down. Admittedly, I felt like I was cheating on my tried and true "go-to" Thai restaurant, but I wanted to see how this place compared. I ordered my two favorite dishes: Massaman Curry and Thom Kha Soup... both ordered hot. Didn't I feel silly when I found that this place and my favorite a couple doors down are owned by the same. And here I thought I was going the ferret out the competition.. Truth is they are both quite good. Jasmine Thai is more expansive and the decor more upscale. However, since I chose takeout, the aesthetics were lost on me. I must admit, although I picked up my to-go food from a VERY nice counter, I think the idea might be to sit and enjoy the place... The food is good. In the end I actually found I enjoy the Thai Pepper's (the other restaurant I mentioned) Thom Kha soup better, but the Massaman Curry was as good. I found the Thai Pepper's "hot" to be more hot than Jasmine Thai's, but that could have just been the person preparing my meal that night...or the fact that I had a cold (which is why I wanted spicy in the first place ;-)

Ok, it's me again. My bf and I were in the neighborhood, both starving and didn't know what to eat. I thought about the delectable crab fried rice, and thought I ought to give this restaurant another shot. To my dismay, they did not have crab fried rice today. We ordered Moo Nam Tok (shredded pork salad), Roasted Duck Curry, Happy Snapper and side of steamed rice. We went for medium spicy for the salad and curry. Salad turned out very spicy, yet delicious. Even with the pork pieces it felt light and refreshing. I especially loved the mint leaves in it. The greens helped calm the spiciness a bit, but I still had to drink a lot of water, and ate it over (a lot of) rice. Roasted duck curry, perhaps in comparison, was not spicy at all, which I was rather grateful for because I don't know if I would have been able to handle two really spicy dish. The curry sauce was smooth and delicious, and there were big chunks of duck in it, which made my bf and I very happy. By the time the Happy Snapper arrived, we were full. We tasted it and packed it to-go. There were 2 generous pieces of fried snapper, served with onions and bell peppers and sauce. From the picture in teh menu we thought it was crispy fried fish, and didn't know about the sauce. But those couple of bites we had were good. The total came out to $43-something, with doggy bags to take home with. Service was much better this time. I thought the dining room looked quite nice, too.

I've been here a couple of times and it never disappoints me. Although this restaurant isn't completely traditional (they had forks on the table instead of chopsticks), the food is still really yummy. I always order the Pad Khee Mao for its fat yummy noodles, tasty mix of vegetables, and it's never too salty. Although I have to say, they may skimp out on the meat sometimes. I also really like their pad thai! the noodles aren't too hard or mushy with just enough flavoring so that it's not bland in some places. What I don't like is their salad. The last time I ordered a salad, I received a few whole, unshredded pieces of lettuce and a couple of big pieces of vegetables, which was really hard to eat. Though, for thai food, I would expect the food to be more spicy. All of the food that I've tried here, (which is maybe 5 different items total), are not spicy at all. Also, I must say that the interior of the restaurant is really pretty!

Update: tried this place again recently. Service was much better this time. Unfortunately, I still feel like I can get better Thai food at other locations. And at lunch, expect that they will place the bill at your table before you are even near finished. Very nice people who work here. 3 stars feels about right to me.

We went to Jasmine for the second time last week. The decor is an elegant modern thai with lotsof seating space (you dont feel claustrophobic unlike Krung Thai). The service is quick and efficient. My two favorite dishes were " Fat Shrimp" and catfish in green curry sauce. I think they were just very unique and not just your run-of -the-mill thai dishes. "Fat Shrimp" were 6 huge shrimps stuffed with chicken paste, fried, and beautifully presented on skewers stuck to an orange. They also had the loveliest catfish in green curry, with chuncks of fried tender catfish is a sweetish green curry. We also had excvellent pad thai, grilled beef salad, fat and juicy fish cakes and a very light stir fried veggie dish. Their thai tea was also exquisite since it tastes just like the thai tea we had in thailand. I actually took 2 cooking classes on my recent visit to thailand, and I daresay the food is quite aunthentic. The price was also very reasonable. Id definitely go back there!

Very nice decor and good menu selection, price standard for Thai food. Have been here 3 times for dinner in the last 3 months and food was excellent each time. Service was so-so each time. They were not very attentive even though the restaurant was less than half full. But we weren't in a hurry and the food was really good so no worries there. What really annoyed us though was this. Each time we used a BYGO coupon from Metro (good for Thai Pepper and Jasmine). The coupon clearly states "free entree with purchase of regular priced entree of equal or greater value". We ordered 2 entrees for $12 each and 1 for $7. But on the check they only gave us the $7 one free. I pointed this out to the server the first time and she went to her boss who came and said it was OK and she would give the $12 for free. I've used coupons like this at lots of other restaurants before and this has never happened before. So I thought it was just an oversight. But the 2nd time we went there exactly the same thing happened again! Then the 3rd time we went (last week), and of-course it happened again, however this time the server told us straight that we only get the cheaper one for free. I told her, No the coupon clearly states "equal value free". After, a little bit of argument we finally got the $12 one free again. So be warned, if you have a BYGO coupon from Metro make sure you check the correct discount has been applied.

We first went here a few weeks after they opened, and everything was pretty good. Service was a little slow and the waitresses didn't seem to be paying much attention if they didn't know you from previous visits. But the food was good, the restaurant was new, so we figured we'd give it another try since we both love Thai food. Few weeks later, we came back. Service was worse. I had to ask several times to refill my glass and the water was warm (ick). I was looking for a dish with lots of veggies and some protein, but the chicken was chewy and the dish was incredibly bland - I had to use salt and pepper to liven it up! That was the last time we went - it's a pretty place, but not worth our time.

this was definitely a pleasant surprise. nice thai restaurants with non-thai servers usually are not authentic. this was actually was pretty authentic. we had the mango salad, pad thai and kana moo krob. the pad thai was probably one of the better-best pad thai i've had including the ones in thailand and yes i grew up in thailand... i do highly recommend this place for authentic thai food WITH great service, which is hard to find... oh and we got desserts on the house... extra star!! =)

I really wanted to like this place. I love Thai Pepper right around the corner and I understand that they are owned by the same folks. However, the service was poor even though the wait staff was running as quickly as they could. I had to wait almost an hour for my take out, even after calling it in the suggested 15 minutes before showing up. The food was kind of bland, the meat (beef and chicken) was tough and chewy. My favorite tom kha gai was boring. Disappointing.

Nice gem to discover! Its location in the Franklin Mall enables easy parking and access. The interior decor is clean and contemporary. Service was prompt and attentive without being fussy. The food was great. My standard for comparing Thai restaurants is the green curry chicken. This one IMHO is the best - white meat, generous portions of eggplant cooked just right, and a curry that isn't too creamy or heavy. They also offer brown rice (yay!) in addition to white rice. Other dishes I've had include the Thai summer rolls (in steamed rice wrappers, can be ordered with or w/o the shrimp), some noodle dishes, and the duck curry. Prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this place.

last nite was the 1st time go to Jasmine Fine Thai Cuisine. I had the great time with my family over there... I love their interior design... so nice and the foods are awesome!! I love the crab fried rice the most... so good.. you need to try it for sure. Also, we tried the fried calamari, money bag, prawn salad, jungle curry beef, basil chicken, green curry with mixed veggies and tofu, we got the soup that made with coconut milk... they all so delicious... I'll come back for sure...

Love this place. 5 stars for food, service, ambiance. Been there about 10 times in last 6 months. They always recognize us, reciting our last order and knowing our favorite table. We usually go fairly early for dinner (5:00) and it is usually not crowded until about 6:00. It's obvious that people like this place as there is usually a pretty good crowd by the time we leave. This is the only Thai place I go to. I didn't even know about their sister restaurant Thai Pepper. Our favorite foods are the pad thai and we usually order a curry dish but change that one around so as to try all their curries. Very flavorful no matter what is ordered., Never had a bad meal and go there at least once every few weeks.

Solid four starts! The decor is decent and serving size is large compared to what you can get at most Thai restaurants. The food is absolutely delicious although some dishes taste a little bit salty to me. Their fried rice and curry are good to try.

i'm not sure this is the best thai food i've ever had, but it certainly is some of the best thai food in the south bay. we had a party of 10 last night, and the service was really good. we had a number of dishes - the spring rolls and satay were awesome. we had to tom ka soup, larb chicken salad, pad see ew, 2 curries, and basil lamb. really tasty, not too salty. the portions for the dishes were perfect.

We were disappointed in the food and the service. The food was better than average, but it was served luke warm. We tried the calamari which was very good, The coconut soup was also good but the shrimp in it were very overcooked and bland. The crabcakes did not taste like crab. The pad thai was bland and tasteless with the same overcooked shrimp! If we go again, I will order hot rather than medium spicy - perhaps that will give the food more flavor

Let me start by saying this. THERE WAS A LONG PIECE OF TWINE IN ONE OF OUR EGG ROLLS. If you need more details to deter you from eating at this establishment, read on... My husband and I came here for dinner on a Saturday night. We started by ordering the Thai Summer Rolls, which are basically veggie egg rolls. It was interesting, though, because the waitress asked us if we minded having chicken in our veggie rolls. Interesting. Anyway, they were really HOT and I decided to cut into one. I thought that it was a really long noodle keeping me from cutting all the way through... nope, it was a thick piece of TWINE. Disgusting. To top it off, we told the bus girl about the piece of twine, and all she did was wordlessly remove the plates from our table. No apologies, no sending the waitress or manager over. We would've told our waitress, but she took our order and was never heard from again. The kicker was that they tried to keep the veggie roll on our bill. We notified the hostess, who looked shocked, and then the young, rude bus girl quickly took our bill and fixed it. It was one of the most terrible dining experiences we've ever had. The food was overly salted, the egg rolls literally inedible, and the wait staff was inattentive and rude. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AT THIS PLACE. Go to a quality Thai restaurant such as Osha Thai (in SF), Thai Basil, or Krung Thai!

Food is actually pretty good here. I tend to come pretty often because I work so close. The three stars is because, if you go, you need to know that service is pretty slow. I believe it's the same owners as Thai Peppers, which if you go there, they tend to rush you out and if you go to Jasmine's they take quite a while to bring your food out and follow up. It's two extremes. It's hard to be there just an hour for lunch, so not a good lunch place unless you have the time. A great place for dinner! Their dinner menu is fabulous. Highly recommend it for dinner.

YUM! My husband and I discovered this while attending the farmers market they have nearby. I love the fact their take out is as good as their dine in. Great variety of dishes at a reasonable price. Their PAD THAI is killer and can be killer hot so be careful...thai hot is hot! We love it, but it definitely is not for the faint of heart. Great appetizers. BBQ pork is yummy. Get two orders so you don't have to share.

Ever since moving to San Jose I've been looking for my 'go to' Thai restaurant. The one that is nice, comfortable, super reliable, and damn tasty. With Jasmine Thai, I have found all three. I love this place. I crave it. I want it. I must have it. The decor is actually really nice, as in not your usual Thai place, this would be a respectable place to take somebody from out of town, or even a decent 'date' restaurant. As for the food... it is scrumptioudelicious. One of the things I like most about it is that it's really good for vegetarians. They set it up so most of the dishes can be done with any type of meat or tofu. Unlike many Thai restaurants, which use meat-based broths for their soups, they have vegetarian options, which is really appreciated when it's slightly chilly outside. Even without the meaty broths, the soups are fantastic, with kaffir lime and lemon grass flavor throughout. Also, the curries are fantastic, not too salty, not too sweet (and this is from someone who loves her salt). Once again, they are well spiced with a lot of flavors. My husband also frequently gets noodle dishes which always look good, not too greasy and oily, the meet is cooked nicely and the noodles and sauces are fresh tasting. Best of all, the portions are decently sized, especially the soups, which always makes for fantastic leftovers. Overall, big thumbs up to Jasmine Thai, my savior in an otherwise veggie unfriendly and bland field of Thai restaurants.

Coming here changed my whole definition of spice. The Thai dishes are so good but so spicy, its a little hard to explain. The only problem I had was that the restaurant is a little cramp and has a 15-20 minute waiting period. Other than that, I love this place and recommend it to everyone. If you like spicy food, I recommend the Drunk Noodles, thai spice. If it doesn't have enough heat, then just add more

Ok, any one who has ever read my review of Thai Pepper, should knwo that this place is same owners, and they good waitresses from thai pepper. The food here is amazing and it's nice to have a nice bar rather than the broncos and who cant say lounge next door. My wife and I especially love the brown rice they serve, nice option and the rice itself is not your typical brown rice, its tons of other things.

I wrote my original review of Jasmine on the 'Thai Pepper' page. Apparently they are one and the same. I had the best Thai meal since I've been in Santa Clara. It was really, really great. We had Tom Ka fish soup and it was wonderful. The fish was cooked delicately and between the soup and fish - it was one of the best soup's I've ever had. The follow-up fish stir-fry was wonderfully cooked and delicious. The spicy sauce was wonderful. The place was a delight both visually and with their food. Easy for me to return to.

Net:Net It was good thai food. Service was average, nothing special Value/Portions great! Music was distracting to bad.. Menu is broken up into two sections, Regular and Vegitarian.. a little confusing... Dancing Prawns where Great! Money Bag awesome! Tom Yum soup enough for two people! Golden Triangle average..

Mmm! I would have never come to this place if it weren't for someone taking here. This restaurant's food was excellent, and the atmosphere is really quite nice with its interior modern design, glass windows, patterned upholstery. The food was authentic and best of all...they have excellent lunch prices! $6.95 gets you soup (it was my favorite Thai- tom yum soup), side salad, and your main dish which comes in a very generous amount. For all you pineapple fried rice lovers out there...definitely check this place out! Thai restaurants always overprice their pineapple fried rice ($10+) but Jasmine has it on the lunch menu which means its only $6.95! Their eggplant + seafood is really good too. As an added bonus, the waiter was super nice and gave us ice cream with fresh mangoes on the house! Wohoo!

Very nice ambiance--indoor decor and windows overlooking historic post office "Typical" Thai menu. Food tasted good. Service was flaky. After sitting for awhile, realized they forgot us and had to ask for menus. After that, not too attentive.

"fine" should not be in the title of this restaurant. Food was good, casual, but definitely not fine dining.

If you like the neighboring restaurant Thai Pepper, then you will like Jasmine even better. They serve the same lunch menu as Thai Pepper in addition to a separate menu. The appetizer sampler is very good; I like to share that with a friend. The decor and ambiance are much nicer than Thai Pepper.

This place is just fine. I've had take-out multiple times and also sat down for a meal. Everything has always been good, but never a standout that will keep me coming back. The ambiance is a huge plus and the people who work there are always very polite. If you are in Santa Clara, give it a try. If not, it's probably not worth a special trip.

GREAT restaurant! the service isn't as good as it could be, but the food keeps you coming back! Great location and decoration. Little bit chilly though!

Ended up here while trying to find another Jasmine Thai in San Jose. Turned out pretty good! Surprisingly nice restaurant in an odd location. Very clean and bright inside, perfect place for lunch. Came here on a Sunday around 2 and it was sort of empty. Food was pretty good. Loved the seafood curry. Red curry was good too. Other noodle dishes and friend rice were so so. Nothing to write home about. Good food and ambience for the price.

Just walking into the restaurant I was already impressed with the interior design. It was so inviting. The decorations weren't overwhelming and tacky. It was a mixture of contemporary style with the traditional. Simple and clean. I admit I was a little judgemental, and I did expect the prices of the plates to be on the expensive side, basing it on how the interior looked (it has an upscale feel to it). But I was wrong. The prices were reasonable. I was really impressed with the food. We started off with the crispy calamari served with honey sriracha sauce for an appetizer and me being a calamari lover thought it was one of the best that i've ever tasted. It was delicious. We also got the pad-thai, the crab fried rice, the jasmin thai chicken wings, and the chicken with yellow curry and coconut milk, and of course topped it all off with Thai-Iced Tea (mixed just right). The food was cooked well. The best part was the plates weren't greasy or oily, but rather healthy. They used the right amount of spices, and nothing was too salty or too sour...and the portions were just right. I thought it was really cute how the waiters and waitresses were dressed in the traditional thai clothing as well. They were really friendly and attentive. Great customer service over all. I'm definatley going back. Jasmine Fine Thai Cuisine is definately a hidden treasure, and if you love thai food I definately recommend this place.

A friend and I "discovered" this place after being turned away from trying to get to Thai Pepper on a Sunday. Luckily we decided to walk the strip mall to see if anything else was opened and we stumbled across this quaint little restaurant that turned out to be quite spacious once you get inside! I've been here numerous times since then and found myself always having the most pleasant dining experience. The staff is super friendly and attentive, any food pairing I've ordered so far have been scrumptious and have definitely recommended this place to numerous friends and family!

If you're in the area and you notice that there are two thai places in the same plaza, I would opt for this place. Jasmine from what I understand is the sister store of Thai Pepper, only it looks ritzy. The prices are roughly the same and the food has nicer presentation. So, in that case walk over to Jasmine. The food is affordable and the is quite good. The curries are something to try, and the noodle dishes like pad see ew and pad thai are standard. The entrance to the place is facing the post office which is sort of awkward. I actually came there the day they closed off the back entrance, something about someone tripping in the back. So for liability they closed it off.

Food was pretty good. They didn't make it as spicy as I wanted but was able to add chili paste as needed. Service is about 3 stars also.

This place is AMAZING. (Why are there only 22 reviews so far?! Oh well, a hidden secret of a great place is nice, too. :)) This is my new favorite Thai restaurant as of Saturday. Best Chicken Satay ever! Big, juicy portions of chicken-- something I'm not used to at most Thai places, and yummy peanut sauce. The cucumber salad was surprisingly really sweet (syrupy). (I prefer the tangy, vinegar kind better.) Really yummy shrimp pad thai (5 pieces of shrimp!). The minced chicken + basil mini rolls were good and packed with fresh basil, but not something I would necessarily order again (I didn't really like the minced chicken). The fried banana (with coconut ice cream) was yummy, but we could not finish all the food, ahhhh. The waitress was suuuuper sweet, friendly, and sincere. I really liked her. :) The atmosphere and decorations were pretty and fancy. I also liked how they use Corelle dishware, heh. This place is much better than Thai Pepper (1 minute walk away), even though it's supposedly owned by the same person and their menus look somewhat similar. The only difference is the food and decor is better here and the prices are a bit higher, but I don't mind. I will definitely be back.

I LOVE this restaurant! Everything I've tried there is amazing and the portions are generous - my favorite dish is the Pad See Oo, but they also do a great yellow curry and all the curries and chicken satay and i could keep going this place is so good. get a thai iced tea as well.

I've never had dinner here, only lunch and have always found the food to my liking. For $6-7 you get soup salad and an entree. The service could be better, but you cant beat the price. The decor of the restaurant is very clean and modern. So far my favorite lunch item has been the red curry chicken served spicy. NB My last dinner here the service was slightly off. They failed to bring our entrees at the same time.

What a surpise...when I walked in the decor was definitely top notch and the restaurant definitely exudes a very upscale atmosphere with lots of color and fine tableware with a very open and airy feel to it. It threw me off since I was pretty casually dressed but since the place was so close to Santa Clara University, there were some students eating there and so I felt less out of place. The price of the dishes are very reasonable (for such a nice venue) with quite a lengthy menu. We had the Larb Salad with beef to start and it was VERY spicy, and I can usually take a fair amount of spiciness. My friend started to sweat but enjoyed the dish thoroughly even when I had to stop. Had to wait for the rice before I could recover from that experience. I must admit that it was good, and next time I will get it a little milder. We had the Catfish Curry, Chicken Green Curry and Eggplant. YUM and the catfish was in green curry, so we had a lot of curry to eat. I like thicker curry, like the ones serve at Basil Thai and Thai Express in San Francisco, but every restaurant makes thing differently and this doesn't disappoint. Tasty and spicy enough but the dry catfish dish was a bit of a disappointment. Eggplant was cooked well and was very garlicky, tasty with my green curry. I would definitely recommend and come back to this place with large groups, especially birthdays that require a group to dress up. It also helps that the entrees are light on the wallet. Dishes = ~$10-$15

To whom it may concern, I am a regular customer to Jasmine Fine Thai Restaurant. I have been coming to the restaurant to eat lunch/dinner for the past 1 1/2+ yrs. Today at lunch, around 12PM i was not satisfied with the customer service. First, we were seated to an empty table at a booth with no silverware, water, etc. on the table. We waited patiently and finally got a lady to take our order 1/2 an hour later which was a little after 12:30PM. That is a ridiculous length of wait to place an order. Still an empty table. No water and haven't been asked if we wanted anything to drink. About 12:45 still waiting for our food to come out and as we watch people get seated with our very eyes, they were served with water, drinks, napkins, silverware, etc. They received their meal right after we got ours and the other guests were not in the restaurant for more than 15 minutes. I understand its lunch time and the restaurant may be busy or backed up. We had to wait almost 45 minutes before receiving our meal. At around 1:30 we finished our meal and paid our bill. As we were leaving the restaurant a lady worker for your restaurant asked us rudely why we did not tip with an attitude. We explained to her that we are not cheap people but we were not satisfied with the customer we received today for lunch and that a tip is not mandatory. She then rudely told us with an attitude to go eat McDonalds next time or eat some where else and not to come back to Jasmine Fine Thai Cuisine Restaurant. My girlfriend and I did not appreciate what she has done and said. This was the second time the lady was very rude to us as we are polite n patient. The other many times we have dined at your restaurant we tipped well over 18% of our bill. This was only one of the two times we did not tip due to poor customer service. If anything, our lunch should have been free instead of leaving a tip by how we received our customer service earlier today. Food was great as usual. Our lunch today was $40.21. Thank you for your time and consideration.

This Thai restaurant always has great service and food! I never have had a meal I was dissatisfied with. The prices are reasonable for the portion sizes and the food is delicious. The menu seems to keep expanding too, they are always adding more dishes! Really a wonderful meal! I think it might be one of the best Thai restaurants in the south Bay!

This is my favorite place for thai lunch specials! They have an awesome lunch special menu with tons of options and super delicious food! Great price for lunch too! Only reason they don't get 5 stars is the slow service, otherwise this place is yummy!!!
